Winch Bumper

Working on a 03 E350 for work. The nature of the job that the van does has created a need for a winch. I was wondering if anyone has ordered, installed, modified a winch bumper for the front of a E350? I checked Warn Winches, but could not find an offering for a van.I would be willing to adapt a truck bumper if it would work with limited modifications.

i,ve been think'n of the aluminum ones by Aluminess, also pricey but dont need additional weight issues. several others make for vans. good luck

I'll second the Reunel... And no, they ain't cheap, but they look ! I also have pics of mine linked below.

There are other options if you like welding, like the Warn Classic, which I had before (it started losing its chrome). Of course, you could always fabricate one too. But I do like this one best, and it bolts right up.

Re: Winch Bumper

Thanks to all, checked with Reunel today, was a little disappointed with the 6-7 week lead time needed to get the bumper, checked with a place in Missouri, they were nice but did not have a pattern for the E350, they did tell me to check Road Armor? Warn recommended a place in Louisana, they will not deal with the van bumper. Any real recommendations for winch size? Warn recommended M15000, seems like a lot of winch to me, one guy told me an 8000lb winch might work as long as I used pulleys. Any suggestions?

Re: Winch Bumper

My van scaled at 7840lbs (4X4)
BTW- You will endup installing airbags up front due to the weight of bumper and winch.

Re: Winch Bumper

Buckstop has a winch model and a non winch model. Both have a 2" reciever and tow hooks. You could also just put on a 2" reciever and use a 9000# winch on a tray. I have a Warn Classic with a 2" reciever bolted in place where the winch would normally sit on both of my vans. Quigley used to make the main custom mounts. I made the corner braces out of 3/4" galvanized pipe. Those Warn models need corner braces at roughly 45% angles back to the frame. I also added one tow hook on the main mounts. Being able to move the 9000# winch from vehicle to vehicle and front to back has been useful and has gotten me out of some bad stucks. Trailready has some also.

Re: Winch Bumper

Our van scales out at 9000lbs. I had thought of using the front receiver system with the XD9000i winch from Warn, but due to the amount of equipment in the van , carrying the winch is not an option. Using a bumper mounted winch would work out better. I checked Ebay last night and found a decent price on a Road Armor bumper and several Warn winch models that will work.

Hey, thanks! I apparently forgot I sent that to them... Actually, I was inspired by the pic of the white van in that same gallery -- only chose to go without the grill guard.

I have a 12000# winch, which I think is plenty, but not that I ever expect to test that theory. And I think pretty much any bumper can be modified to fit, with the right amount of skill. My local 4x4 shop (who build rock crawlers, etc) mounted the bumper and winch in about 1 day I think...
