Recently I purchased parts from Tousley Ford to completly rebuild the back hatch lock/latch of my 2000 Excursion. I had a bit of a hard time finding some of the parts on their web site so I called them. After a lengthy conversation with one of the parts guys I was a bit concerned as to what would show up. Sure enough, some of the parts I order showed up but some other parts that showed up weren't even for an excursion as far as I can tell. If this was the only thing that happend I wouldn't be that upset as mistakes happen.
The thing that really pi$$es me off is that when the main part showed up for this project (latch/lock assembly behind the door handle with cables and both latches) the mechanism was pretty seriously bent. I would have normally sent it back but since I felt somewhat lucky to get the part at all I kept it and fixed it. Besides, I already had the hatch torn apart. I didn't think it would be that involved but it took more than an hour and a couple of in and out installs to get everything just right.
The good news is it is now in the truck and fixed but my loyalty to Tousley is not what it was!!

That's a real shame, but not the status quo. I suppose any company that does volume business will have an occasional problem, but I'm quite sure if you had spoken to Mike the first time it would have been right. They surely would have fixed this right away if you had called back. I've never had any issues with them personally.

Sorry to hear there was a problem. I'll admit the cataloging on those latches is horrible from my personal experience, and not real clear to us in the catalog. As far as the part being bent, unfortunately damaged and defective parts are a problem every dealer is faced with. I would have been more than happy to exhange the part for replacement.
As many of you know, I'm not always at the phones, but am always available here. I try to check this forum every couple days, and I get email notifcations for every PM I receive.
Once again this was a mistake with bad cataloging compounded with a bad part on the shelf, and I do apologize for the hassle. PM me your info, and I'll give you a call and can at least credit your freight.
If anyone has a problem with an order, PLEASE send me a PM, Things do happen, especially now going into our busy season (cold & snow) but I'm more than willing to discuss and help you out.
