I am new to the site and also new to owning a diesel. I have 1600 miles on my truck now. Since 1000 miles i have been having a problem with shifting from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. its happened about 4 times so far and only happens once a day. And only happens in the morning when cool. It can sit all day while at work and it will not do it again that day. It feels like you just throw it in neutral or press the clutch. RPMs go up and when it happens I will let off the throttle and it acts like nothing was wrong. Goes back to shifting like nothing ever happened. Any ideas?

Many many threads on the tranny issues... Just search... Ford is suppose to be releasing at TSB (TCM/PCM Flash) in the next few weeks to address. Keep an eye on the site..

While your (Fords) concern is much appreciated, why should we send you our VIN and other info if Ford is about to release a TSB to address the shifting issues? I had mine in for the 11-03-23 TSB the day if was pulled back by Ford and my dealer said they couldn't reporduce the shift issue. This is very common with everyone taking their trucks to the shop for shifting issues. DO YOU KNOW WHEN THE TSB WILL BE RELEASED? That is all we need to know....

Well I got off the phone with my dealer and they received the new tsp on wed and have already reprogramed a couple of trucks. Taking my in om Monday. Hopefully this will fix everything.
my truck has been shifting like this for the last 3 months. It sucks and has placed me in a couple dangerous situations. The only reason my dealership knows anything about ant TSB relating to this issue is because of me. They've checked thier computer system everyday for me when I call to see if a TSB or recall has been released and nada is always the answer (including today).
So any info regarding this from Ford would be much better than the denial and silence we.ve gotten

My guess is (or maybe it is my hope) the more reports Cory can forward to Ford, the more accurately they can assess the extent of the problem. And, the more likely they will move with some urgency.
I have started a thread "touchy accelerator" that might reflect the same causes and problems as "2011 6.7 transmission" and "dead or dry throttle" discussions describe.
I would appreciate anyone's comments after reading these threads regarding whether we are all talking about similar experiences with shifting problems, and with hesitation, lurching, and surging--as well as dead or no throttle response.
Hopefully, the new TSB or flash will make a major step to solving this problem.
Im having shifting issues as well on both my Fords..been at the deraler, they drove it and notice it..Just waiting for the next flash..At least my Duramax/Allison is shifting flawless...

well if they have more than one complaint about this shifting problem, i would think that they (ford,cory c.s. rep) would be in a hurry to fix it on thier best truck yet. i've seen more than one story and can compare the trans problems about 10-11 threads and several members of the diesel stop ie. 50-60 and thats only here.so i know its the truck "PLEASE FORD FIX MY TRANS,SO IN 5 YEARS, I DON"T WANT IT TO BREAK CAUSE IT WAS SHIFTING FUNNY OR SLAMMING IN GEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I can only hope that the "Fix" doesn't screw up our trucks that do NOT have any shifting problems,,,,,, mine is fine.

Well. i believe if they dont get it right this time. there will be big numbers being bought back.this nonsense in trans issues have went on since the trucks were available for sale.
