This is becoming a chronic problem - might be time for Ford to initiate a recall.

6.4's, some at least, had a similar problem. Maybe it's the different thermal expansion of the different pieces, maybe not. I don't think that statistically it's that big a problem - unless you have one that is.

The problem is that the Radiator plastic ends appear to be sealed to the aluminum core with crimp ends from the core over the edge of the plastic end. On the drivers side bottom you can see that the crimped ends don't look great. So if their machine doesnt crimp it tight enough the sealant they use will break down over time and it will leak. I get mine replaced tomorrow and I am hoping it is a newer design than my 2011.

Well the dealer took my truck in yesterday and replaced my radiator. I want to thank my dealer and Ford customer service for coming through and covering a decent amount of the repair. Truck is all good. Hopefully this radiator lasts longer.

I have a 2012 F450 with the 6.7 21000 miles, the rad started leaking on the drivers side near the bottom. The Dealer that I bought it from told me that it was covered under warranty and maybe the next one would do better. I did not pay for a $58000 dollar truck for the dealer to tell me I have a maybe repair fix. I just turned around and left the dealer ship ordered an all aluminum radiator from Griffin. NO MORE FORDS IN MY DRIVE WAY after this!

After reading the trouble with water pumps and radiators with the 6.7 diesel, and ford not taking care of them 100% i'm thinking i made a mistake by switching from GM to ford. In the last 2 and half years i have traded 3 gm's. A duramax for king ranch super duty, buick lacerne for escape and acadia for lincoln mkt. Never had warranty issue with GM. If i have a radiator go bad or water pump and have to pay anything for repairs i will be the shortest ford cusomer known.

I changed to Ford after owning two problem GM trucks. It goes both ways.

Ford has over half a million of these trucks on the road now. Yep there have been a few warranty and non-warranty repairs. But for most folks they have held up well.

My truck is at 80,000 miles now and has been great. There are many others with higher mileage than mine that are still going great. What was that Youtube video that floated around a week or two ago of the 6.7L with 500,000 miles on it. He said he had just replaced his radiator.

Waterless Coolant?

Does anyone know if you can use Evans Waterless Coolant in the 6.7L? And if so, does or will it void your warranty? Coolants » Engine Cooling Systems

My 2011 F350 is at the dealer as of this morning for a leaking radiator in the same spot as everyone else. Smelled coolant, took a look, and there it was. Put 400 miles on it since and didn't seem to be that bad. But bad enough that ford won't let me drive it now. Radiator ordered today. I'll keep everyone posted.

They are also replacing the motor/glass for the sliding rear window. Will open but won't close consistently.

Disappointing. 26K on the truck.

Been at the dealer since Monday. Part arrived today and with any luck it will be finished tomorrow. I can only hope it's done properly. They apparently have to drain the A/C, both radiators, etc. Lot of work. We will see.

Thanks for the update, aquasport17. Check in with us when you hear back from the dealership.

Good Afternoon all

I bought a 2011 Super Duty after being a loyal GM customer for over 20 years. Overall I have been very happy with the design and creature comforts that Ford has offered, but I have been riddled with problems since day one. I started having problems with coolant leaks a little over 30k miles (I could smell it but couldn't see the leak.) the dealer stated that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, as they couldn't see or find leak either. Now I have a little under 60k on the truck and it is visibly leaking from the crimps on the radiator. Also my AC suddenly stopped working, and has no freon in the ac system. Is there anyone here that can advise on where to proceed on possibly getting Ford to cover this ridiculous bs? As I mentioned earlier I have owned GM diesels for over 20 years, and never had ANY coolant leaks or ac leaks, or other issues - AT ALL. (which is how it should be.) I was skeptical about the new Ford, I took the plunge as I did extensive research and everything pointed to Ford really stepping up with the new design and touting the overall efforts to "get it right". I also wanted to support the only company that didn't ask for a bailout. I spent over 60k on this loaded King Ranch truck so I could have a long lasting and dependable unit. Additionally I really don't want to spend money on design flaws, or errors that are not my fault. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
