Drive line shudder on acceleration with trailer/heavy load

I am curious to know what type of trucks are having this drive line shudder. I know that it appears that the drive shaft update seems to be fixing the issue.

If your truck has had the vibration fixed please post what the fix was and still mark the type above in the poll.

Wow... Crew cab Duallies are the culprits with all the issues.

I figured it would be the trucks with longer drive shafts, just wanted to get a representative sampling from the truck owners themselves. I have a dually with the issue.

You need to cross reference with numbers of models sold. Remember the saying, "lies, darned lies and statistics?"

Own a 2012 dually and pulled my 12k 5th wheel last week with no shudder. Has a build date of 9/12.

I have a dually now, but I had the same shudder with my 2002 F250 Crew Cab short bed and with my 2004 F350 Crew Cab short bed. I don't think it is specific to duallys.

I am sure that it isn't limited to the duallys, I think that it is limited to the longer wheelbase vehicles though. Specifically the ones with two piece drive shafts.

No problem with mine. Is it model year specific?

Seems to be a 2011 and newer issue. Not to point out the obvious(or trying to be conceited), but the is the 2011 and newer portion of the forum.

That graph looks to simply be following overall sales...I bet you see a correlation.

My '08, extra cab, long bed, had the same problem with the trailer I still have. The '11 4 door does not. As in the problem is not model year specific. The dealer of course "could not duplicate" and did nothing.

My crew cab long box has the issue if you accelerate hard on takeoff pulling a heavy load. I just don't take off hard and it hasn't been a problem to me . I installed Timberen overloads and it vertually eleminated the shudder.

My 05 crew cab long bed didn't have it but my new 2012 does. Both have camper packages. Sway bar on the 05 is way bigger than on the 2012. 05 has been lowered in the rear by 2" and still doesn't have the problem.
