Engine Oil Capacity TYPO ???

Can anyone confirm the Engine Oil Capacity at 13qts for our 6.7L's?

Just did my 4th oil change and 11qts brings the level 1/2 up the dipstick. Where is FORD getting 13qts form? Completely Dry motor?????

I have read on here that 12 qts typically does the trick for oil changes. The other quart probably stays in the motor... I have yet to verify this myself as my first oil change has not happened yet.

13 quarts put my level right to the top portion of the hash marks. I started at 12 quarts and that brought it right up to the middle. Added the other quart, drove it 600 miles and after it darkened up a bit, you can see it on the dip stick no problem, right at the upper level of the hash marks.

Like lincster said, it takes 13 qts if you want it filled up. Anything less and I would feel you'd have to check it a lot more often eventually to make sure you're not low.

I've always used what the manufacturer recommends and I've never had issues...think I'll stick with that.

13 is what I've been putting in mine. It's down from the 15 the 6.4 used.
