hello everyone.i have recently purchased a 2012 f250 diesel that has been underwater.it shows no sign of water in the oil.when i turn the switch on the fuel pump runs and the relays on the motor buzz, but none of the instrument cluster lights up and the starter will not even try to spin.anyone have any idea where i should start with this project.any help would be greatly appreciated.
The instrument cluster is one part of a computer network. The units in the network have to be programmed to work. The network changed a lot with the 2011 redesign. A ford dealer is likely to be the only resource that can get it to run.

One thing you may want to consider is removing the ENTIRE fuel system, make sure there is NO moisture whatsoever in any part, and go from there before making any further attempts to start the engine. If there is any water in the fuel system, it will destroy it and it's very, very expensive to replace.

it would be wise to disconect the fuel lines at the motor and send some compressed air from the open lines once you remove the tank, any,- ANY water in the lines will cost you big $$$$$ of coarse change filters out also

Fresh water or salt water immersion? The problems you're going to have aren't just with the motor. It's the 25 miles of wiring that's probably corroded at every connection. Maybe you can sell it for parts???

it was a freshwater and yes i do have some experience.i have been building and parting out trucks for about 20 years.i just recently took a burned 03 f350 and used a 05 cab and dash to fix it with.after many hours of work it made a really nice truck.i feel that i can get this truck fixed even if i have to buy another total loss truck to do it with.
water got all the way up in the speedometer cluster.i pulled it out and you could tell the circuit board had been wet.security might be part of it.i am thinking i will probably have to get a new cluster and know telling what else.lol.the windows, locks and keyless entry all work fine.
I don't think you have any idea what you just got yourself into. Every electrical/electronic item in the truck is toast. By the time you're done you'll be a lot farther into it than you imagine.
