Fuel Mileage Dually

I ordered my truck 4 weeks ago. I am wondering what fuel mileage people are getting with the DRW 3.73 axle 4x4. I did not buy this truck for fuel economy, but I am still wondering what to expect.
I currently have a 6.0 King Ranch that I will be losing to this new truck.

Can't wait.

Thanks for your input

I currently have a 350 DRW on order so I too am always interested in hearing more mpg numbers?

Currently I have a 2011 F450 with the 4.30's, and it get the same as my 2004 F350 did. 11-12 city and 15-16 highway. From what I hear the 350 will get better.

I test drove a 350 dually for a day and I "could" easily get 19-21mpg in the 65-70mph range. With that being said, with my "normal" driving habits; accelerating, having to slow down, reaccelerate ... I got 15-16mpg fairly easy.

My overall average is 11.9ish. 3 mpg increase might not sound like much to some people, but at these numbers that's like 30% better which would be fine by me!

Good thing you are not expecting great mileage because it is a little disappointing. I purchased mine expecting to "drive by the pumps faster"! I am getting about 15-16 mpg US hwy at 60 mph empty. Maybe I am not driving fast enough? I'm a little worried for when I hook up the 5er!

I get 16.5 mpg hwy and pulling a 10,000 lbs fiver, I avg. 11 mpg. I bought the truck last Sept. and is now has 13,000 miles on it. For a 10,000 lb truck I don't think that is too bad.

Just got back from the weekend camping trip. I have a 5er that says on the tag 9400 lb as delivered weight. I don't have 1000 lbs of added weight. Going over washington state passes I got 10.2 mpg. Going the southern route home thru the columbia gorge with serious head winds I got 9 mpg. Weight is weight. It takes power to move weight. It is what it is. The milage sucks... but... it is what is it is. It is plain physics. On the plus side, a hole drivers couldn't get one over on me. I had the power to put them in there place. 5% grades at 70 didn't break a bit of worry.

I know I am expecting a lot. Some things I did not mention is that I hand calculated this after a 220 mile round trip of which 12 miles were soft city driving. I took it easy on the acceleration and used motor to slow down where possible. Another thing is that the dealer installed 20" tires and rims to my used truck with 22000 miles on it with 3.31 diff so I know I will lose a little mileage there. Hard to have the benefits of both worlds with demand for power when needed and good fuel economy when empty.

2011 F-350 DRW LB CC 3.73 4x2

Just rolled 2000kms. Getting 25us highway and about 19.5 city. That's 30 imperial and over 24imp city. I drive it like granny would though. I am super impressed with this unit.

Should improve at around 40,000 kms.
