Angry WAY TOO MUCH DIESEL FUEL IN THE OIL

I have a 2012 f-250 6.7 with 5,750 Mi on the clock and have been doing oil samples and I just received my last one with only 2,500 miles on the test sample and the lab says the fuel dilution is 10.0%. the lab condemns the fuel dilution at 5.0%, so this is way over as far as the percentage of fuel to oil.

My question to you guys is, are any of you getting this same fuel dilution ratio and if so what are you doing about it. Like more frequent oil changes Etc. I can't afford to change my oil every 2,500 Mi. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Does your truck spend a lot of time idling?

My latest sample with 7,561 miles on the oil (13,916 on truck) had 2% fuel dilution. I just sent in another sample so I'll have some more numbers soon.

city and regen do not mix. suggest that you get something to monitor your regens so you can determine that and take some steps to either get on the hwy or put it in park to cancel the regen.

The only thing that might be the reason is my wife drives the truck to work and really never goes over 25mph and round trip is only about 15Mi

How many times have you changed the oil in this truck?

What lab?

If you have 2 UOA done @ 2500 miles each and both had 10% fuel dilution you should be heading to Ford's service lane. Do you know what method Oil Analyzers uses to test fuel dilution? Some methods are not that accurate. btw 10% is like 1.3 quarts of fuel

I changed the factory oil at 2,500. This is the first sample after the change of the oem oil at 2,500mi. this sample has only 2,500mi on it.I wanted to be able to go for 5,000mi I had the truck at ford yesterday and had the oil changed along with the filter, one day after i received the test results, I am thinking about taking another sample at 1,200mi and see what those results are.

PCM programming cancels the regen in park. It will probably start soon after you start moving.

Commuter traffic is the problem. Is there another vehicle she can drive? One more suited to stop and go traffic?

Agree with commuter vehicle is the problem. These trucks are built to be used and get the motors hot.
Best thing I do is when I hook up my 17,000lb 5th wheel and tow at 75mph running 18lbs of boost. I know that motor is happy.

No this is the only vehicle we own. You know the old folks only need one car HaHa. Ya we sort of downsized when I retired didn't need two cars. Wife will be retiring soon and then we can spend more time in the desert here in So.Cal.(also know as mexifornia)and Arizona with the desert toys. I think I will do a sample at 1,200mi and see what it looks like the dealer did not seem to interested in the test results I gave them yesterday. Were headed for Quartzite, Az and will be there for a week or so. Thanks for the help.

Best thing you can do for now is ensure you change the oil often at 3-4K intervals to keep the fuel dillution down.

Suggest also that the wife drive in tow haul or lock out some gears to keep the rpms up. Keeping the rpms up will increase heat and will also help with the dillution and the fuel getting by the rings.
