2002 amber color and lousy dealer

OK, I just got word that the color I really want, amber, is not available for 2002 [img]images/icons/mad.gif[/img]
and I ask the dealer that if the rep was wrong, and I did order a 2001 model, and that the color was available in 2002, could I get a refund. He said no, it was kinda like a marriage, once you say "I do" you are stuck with the one you ordered. Well I told him that a lot of folks on Ford-Diesel.com think otherwise. Thanks to you guys I have learned plenty. But, I really wont believe they arent offering that color until I hear it from you. Does anybody know?

Cochise here. Who, are you dealing with now? I do not know if anyone knows for sure if Amber will or won't be available for 2002!
Have you ordered? Has a VIN# been assigned? Is there a build date? Is the unit "Locked-In"?
There should be no problem with you're not taking delievery of the unit. If you are "Drop-Shipping" as you and I have talked about I could understand.

Cochise, No I have not ordered, I just asked a dealer to find out if amber was available for 2002. He said he asked a ford rep if it was available and they said it wasn't. It is the sales mgr from Jack Kissee Ford in Claremore OK, 30 miles from me. I am just asking a lot of questions and I know the cutoff date is real close for the 2001 orders. It seems crazy to me that nobody can find out what the 2002 colors are yet, and it is almost to the time that you can order them. [img]images/icons/shocked.gif[/img] By the way Cochise, is my last day for the 2001 orders Apr 24?

SteveE -- According to the 3/30/2001 Dealer News Bulletin, the final order submission date for model year 2001 Super Duties is 5/11/2001. Please note that as the final order submission date approaches, certain commodities may balance out earlier than anticipated.
