I have a 2004 F350 on order with the current color True Blue with Silver. I have read on this site several people who have this primary color and it is a real chore to keep it clean.
The 2003's Sonic Blue was real wild and very vibrant, and I was just thinking of changing my order to it.
With the 2004 order guides out Ford has removed several and added the following:
Dark Green Satin Clearcoat
Dark Toreador Red Clearcoat
Medium Wedgewood Clearcoat Metallic
Unfortunately I noticed they no longer offer Sonic Blue and have replaced the color with Wedgewood Blue.
Does anyone know how this new color looks?
Is it lighter than True Blue but not far out as Sonic Blue it replaced?
Any insight would be great.
PS> Ordering a truck without knowing the colors stink.

The Medium Wedgewood Blue has been on Expeditions for a few years. Just start watching for Expeditions in blue and that is it. It is a medium color with a hint of gray to me--metallic. Not very bold.

Look at the picture of the X in my sig - that was Wedgewood Blue. It actually looks more like eggplant in certain kinds of light or if it's dirty. It's a pretty good color, but not really what you'd call "blue" under most conditions.

Nope - You can 'officially' order the 2004 Super Duties on May 19, 2003. At this moment Ford will accept the order however you cannot get a priced DORA until 5/19/03 when Ford officially opens its order processing system.
Job #1, starts on 7/14/2003 as this is the first day 2004's will roll off the line. Your dealer telling you that they cannot order a 2004 until July would not be correct.
To me it is worth waiting several more days (OK -- 63 days, 12 hours, 9 minutes, and 32 seconds - but who is counting?) to get the next model year. Besides there are additions to the new model that I would like to have.
If you would like to hook up with a person who knows his stuff, and is one of TDS's resident sales experts you could get in touch with Bobby Williams of Sunrise Ford here in CA - Bobby is their Fleet Manager (and of course Cochise as well -- Sorry Cochise I didn't mean to leave you out) Bobby can be reached here.
As for the dealer not having the 2004 ordering information you could always be nice and print the two PDF below and give it to them. Duncan, Do you think the Wedgewood Blue Metallic is the same color?

The photo of Duncan's X-car makes the color look great. In fact, his car doesn't look at all like Medium Wedgewood Blue to me. Because in real life it's a dingy blue-grey metalic. It was available in 2003 on X-cars, Expeditions, as well as Explorers. If you want a color that nobody will notice, that's it.

Sorry, I was saving typing. Mine is the exact same color they will be offering - I believe the full name is "Medium Wedgewood Blue Clearcoat Metallic" or something close to that. That's definitely the same color.

I beg to differ. When it's clean, it looks gorgeous. It's when it gets dirty that it looks dingy purple-blue-grey. A black truck looks bad dirty, but at least you can tell it's a black truck with dirt. When the Wedgewood stuff gets dirty it looks like a clean truck with a bad paint color!!
But I also think you're confusing it with another color. Because it's definitely a deep purply blue, while the Explorers and Expeditions I've seen with a dingy grey-blue have been a different color, with no eggplanty purple in it at all.

I think people are getting Medium Wedgewood Blue mixed up with Dark Wedgewood Blue. The Dark Wedgewood Blue is the color that sometimes has a purplish tint to it. Medium Wedgewood Blue is a fairly light blue with grayish tint. It is presently offered on 2003 Explorer if you want to see what it looks like.
