Am I getting the royal runaround?

HI, my son ordered his 02 SuperCab XLT PSD 6sp on 11/28, from the "biggest Ford Dealer" in NJ, thinking there should be no allocation problem, we have no VIN, build date, etc yet. Calls every Friday, (he didn't know what a DORA was)resulted in last week's answer that his truck is on "High Priority" and that Ford has cut back production of the SuperDuty but we will get 4.9%, not much consolation, he wants his truck. On this forum, people have ordered in January and already have VIN's. Any comments would be appreciated!!

Crewcab55, I ordered on 12/18 and have been watching others, ordered since, with vin #'s and build dates. I've hounded my dealer through 2 salesmen and now a manager, they assure me they have the allocation. They got with the F*rd rep Fri. and tell me I'll have a vin this week. Who knows, we'll see. I've noticed the other lucky SD orderers were all in the southwest, maybe it's regional ?? Good luck, stay after them, every day.

I ordered my SuperCab in Northern NJ at Mahwah Ford on 10/12/01. The order went in several days latter. The truck was built ahead of schedule on 11/21, and arrived at the dealer on 12/5. I had a VIN and build date within 2 weeks. Something does not sound right. Who is the dealer? I found Mahwah Ford to be easy to deal with, and they gave me a good price with no BS, my saleman was John Zappile. When I put my order in, most of the others with similar order dates received their trucks ahead of schedule. I sugest that you call Ford customer service, and consider checking out another dealer. Hi, Roboboxer, thanks for the reply, we went to Flemington, I bought mine there with no problem! They gave us a decent price! So I didn't think to shop around!! I will wait until Friday and try again!I just don't like them telling me Ford is slowing down! How do you like your color, my son ordered the same!!! Thanks, Karin

Mad Max, We went to Flemington Ford, when I asked about the DORA (which I learned from this forum)he didn't know what I was talking about - probably thought I was some looney woman!!! What part of NJ are you from? I should have gone to Morristown Ford, but who knew!!
My son can't take the wait, but it will give him a bigger downpayment!!

Crewcab55, I just ordered on sat. from Rittenhouse Kerr in Shrewsbury. They called on tue. and said the order went in on monday night. The truck manager said if it's not to late he will try to take off one of his lariat packages off one of his orders and get my trucks specs built. He said anytime I want to know the status of my order to call anytime I want. Only time will tell, will keep you posted, good luck!

We like the Arizona beige. My neighbor bought a 2001 F350 in Harvest gold that looks better. To bad they dropped Harvest gold in 2002.

Coyote, Definitely aggravating, but they now know they have two days to come up with a vin & build date or they can have the truck and i'll go elsewhere! Sure wish I had found this site one day earlier. There is more USEFUL info in these forums than all the other F*rd or diesel sites on the net. Thanks to all!

I ordered mine on 11/26 and picked it up on 1/21 from Bobby Williams and got the vin the day after I ordered. You could have it drop shipped. Good luck
