Another X-plan story

Last year, you guys turned me on to the EAA and the X-plan when I was looking to buy my 2001 F-250 PSD. I joined the EAA, and within a few days I bought the truck.

I recently found myself in need of a van, so I went onto the EAA website again, got another PIN, and bought a 2002 Econoline E-250. Sorry, it's a gasser.

So, that is two vehicles in less than a year with the X-plan savings. The best part of X-plan is that there is no haggling, and no hassle, with the dealer. It actually makes the car buying experience enjoyable.

Too bad the EAA changed their rules, and you have to be a member for six months or whatever before you are eligible.

Re: Another X-plan story

And the EAA is? What other organizations allow you access to the X-plan? Anyone?

Experimental Aircraft Association. They are a Ford partner or have some association that allows members to get x plan pricing. You can find them on the internet at www.eaa.org. I joined about 6 months ago. At the time you got an x plan number within a day or so. I am not aware of current restrictions. A year membership will run you around $40. You can enroll online.

I year required at EAA

Current EAA rules require you to be a member for 1 year before you are eligible.
