Any thoughts on what incentives may do after 9-03-07??? - Diesel Forum

My truck is due to arrive sometime around 9-03-07 and I am hoping incentives may get a little better by then. Anyone have any thoughts on what may happen to the incentives after 9-03-07? I believe the current incentives did not change the last go around so maybe they are due to improve? Any insight is greatly appreciated!!! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]

Looking at this as a supply and demand issue, I think that the worst case scenario is that incentives will stay the same. Domestic auto and truck sales in general have been down and the manufacurers have been increasingly sweetening the pot to entice buyers. Unless demand suddenly exceeds supply, you shouldn't see incentives decrease. Heck, by then Ford might even be forced to match GM's 100k mile warranty.

Wow, I just looked on the Ford website and noticed the incentives jumped up from $1000 to $3000 for a 2008 Crew Cab! It looks like that just became effective yesterday (8/3/07). Did you see that?

I am in the same boat as you, I just saw the $3,000 incentive. I am praying that the delivery will be before 9/3/07.. the beast is due to be built the 13th and we are hoping for delivery by 09/01.... i will take the 3K and be very happy.

I think that the rebates will get better. They just increased to sell what?...
There isn't any stock out there to speak of, and Job 2 has just started to roll...
Trucks will be everywhere in a few short weeks..

My truck is due the week of 9-3, so it's entirely out of my hands.
I got to think that if it did arrive early, I would wait until the 4th to buy it..

I want to order a 6.4 Crew F350 and she said Wed. is the day she orders and if she gets the Vin before 9/03/ she can lock the deal in.

But she said not to worry that there should be more incentives.. I am still worried I can lose the 3K as well as the others... Anyway she said that if I give a $500 deposit and things went bad I wouldn't have to take the truck she could sell it..And I'd get the deposit back as it's the law. .

What do you think she's saying? Is this true?

I'm biteing my nails on what to do.

the way i understand itt, the incentive must be in effect at the time of delivery. If they put it in writing as far as refunding the deposit, then go for it. If i put a deposit down and do not buy the vehicle, the deposit is theirs to keep... There are very few exceptions to that in New York.

I understand about the incentives but she down played it and said there is always others,etc. etc.

I will ask her up front if she'll do that..put it in writing. Best thing to do. If she doesn't maybe I'll walk and wait until I find something on the lot's I like.

I don't need a truck today mine is fine for now.

Unless she has been invoiced my Ford Motor, she has nothing to sell you. Usually, they are invoiced 7-10 days before delivery.
I don't think there is anything she can do to change Ford sales protocol.

well I talked to her again and she said she'd have no problem with ordering the truck I want as part of her 2 truck a week ordering.

She said I didn't have to give a deposit and when the truck came in and there weren't incentives there to please me I didn't have to take the truck.. she probably thinks I could'nt refuse at that point no matter what is going on.

Any way she thinks the incentives are going to get better..

I envey you guys who have ordered for sure and are not going to be bothered my the direction the incentives might take.

She seemed to like the idea that I might sell my truck outright instead of trade. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] she might have knocked me down by the time the new one comes in.

She seemed to give me a good discount..500 above X. Plus incentives.

We'll see how this one plays out.. so much Bullsh**
