My new truck was scheduled to be built yesterday . I ordered the Fx4 option since I wanted the skid plates anyway and I also wanted the All Terrain tires so I wouldn't get stuck on the ranch.
I just finished reading a post on the towing/hauling forum about numerous bad towing experiences with Revos I'm now crossing my fingers and hoping that these are not the factory installed AT tires
Anybody have any recent experience with factory installed AT tires (if it makes any difference, these are for a DRW 4x4).
Re: Anybody know what brand AT tires from factory?
Mine came with BFG Rugged trails. They came of about 2 days later and I put BFG MT 285/75R16 on. For an AT tire they look more like a regular street tread tire.

Mine also came with Rugged Terrains also. I was told by the dealer that it was just a crapshoot on what you got. He was just positive that they wouldnt be a Firestone tire.

I got the rugged trails but some get the long trails, both will get you nice and stuck.

"Original equipment on many of the world's most popular trucks. Ideal all-season replacement for pickups, jeeps and SUVs. Excellent dry and wet/snow traction. Smooth ride. Excellent mileage.
Authentic all-terrain appearance
Original equipment on many of America's top-selling SUVs
Smooth, comfortable passenger-car ride quality "
I found this info on the BF Goodrich website regarding the "Rugged Trails" all-terrain tire. What about that all-terrain "appearance" anyway? Any thoughts? Doesn't sound like a true all-terrain tire to me. Wouldn't a Goodyear Wrangler be a better tire for on and off road use, wet or snowy, etc????

Nick:
I'm with you on your opinion of this particular tire. I also went to the website and looked up the tire--I caught the "all-terrain appearence" line--sounds like hogwash to me
I ordered the All-Terrain tires because I don't want to get stuck and have seen what often happens to All-Season tires when you get into some mud
I guess at this point, I just keep my fingers crossed and hope that I get a really adequate set of A-T's on my new truck. Gee, would Michelens be too much to hope for
