Anyone else have this happen?

I ordered my truck back in September. Two weeks ago I was assigned a VIN. When the dealer told me about it, she told me that it know has the deluxe aluminum wheels on it and will bump up the price ~$160. It was not listed that way on the DORA. Anyone else get bumped to the aluminum wheels?

And... In theory... if my DORA does not have them....ie. I did not order them.... Should I make them replace them with the chrome or give me the aluminum at no charge?

If I do keep them... Do the horror stories of aluminum wheels and salty states(Michigan loves salt in the winter) still hold true or have they found a way to make the wheels less sucesptible to salt corrosion?

Thanks!

I called the dealer after I posted this and found out that I am scheduled for build this week, with an eta of 3 weeks. I can't wait!

Re: Anyone else have this happen?

Cdash -- There is a material hold on F250 & F350 SRW Super Duties equipped with LT 265 tires and chrome steel wheels. SCHEDULED retail orders as of Friday 10/20/00 with this combo were to be spec changed automatically to the Deluxe Aluminum Wheel (64F) at NO CHARGE. UNSCHEDULED retail orders as of Friday 10/20/00 with this combo would be placed on material hold and will not be scheduled until the material hold is lifted or the order is changed to the 64F wheels.

You should receive the Deluxe Aluminum Wheels at no extra charge. Have your dealer review the 10/20/00 and 10/27/00 Dealer News Bulletins for more info.
