Anyone know if you can order a '08 KR that doesn't have the two tone paint?

Been lurking for a little bit and love the site....

Starting to look into picking up a new '08, and really want a KR, but I just can't stand two tone paint jobs. Is it possible to order one without the two tone job??

I have never seen one or heard of one being ordered that way... Would be nice to have the choice.

Nah, it appears that two-tone paint is part of the King Ranch pkg. The order guide requires the dealer to code the accent color as Pueblo Gold.

You could ask your dealerperson to try to order one with your color as the main color, plus that same color as the accent color. But I suspect the ordering computer would reject the code as invalid paint code.

Of course you could also have the dealer's body shop paint over the accent color with body color. That's probably around $300 to $400 extra.

Really wish it was an option, ah well......When I do decide to pick one up, I'll have to see if the dealer could try ordering it solid....we'll see.....

Rather not deal with an after market paint job, we all know that wouldn't turn out like a factory job.

Thanks for the info!

The bumpers, grille, box rails and other stuff is all Pueblo Gold. So, that's why the two-tone paint is part of the package.

I guess the designers have a thing for gold....

Re: Anyone know if you can order a '08 KR that doesn't have the two tone paint?

When I bought my '08 the dealer was getting ready to deliver a special order KR that was solid black. But salesman said the dealer changed body panels and repainted the bottom black because there was no way to order a solid color KR.
