Call my dealer last night because my truck should have been on his lot...come to find out shippment has been suspended because my truck has been DAMAGED during transit. Will find out today what happened. Wish me luck that it was just something minor.

Well it turns out that it was NOT something minor. It was in a severe hail storm. Adjusters are right now determining wether or not that mine along with several others, need to be sent back to the factory or if they can be sent to the dealer to be repainted.
I am not going to wait for either option. I placed an order with Cochise at Lone Star in Houston and he is going to let me know if it was accepted for a 2000 build by the end of this week. Maybe I am wrong on this, but I don't feel that I should have to accept a vehicle that has been damaged in this way before I even get it.
Oh well, I guess the wait begins AGAIN
Just think, mine was loaded on the convoy for its final destination to the dealer. SOOO CLOSE.

Where and when was this hail storm? I am waiting for mine right now. It was made May 3 and could have been shipped also.

While I would not want a vehicle that had been damaged before I got it. Lots of times they are damaged and the buyer never knows it. Beware of this, Ford bases the degree of damage to a vehicle that has not been delivered yet on vehicle cost. Meaning what it cost them to build it Not what you would pay for it.
I learned this the hard way I had a 2000 E350 PSD cutaway on order. the dealer called and said that it had been suspended from shipment due to extream damage and that I sould reorder imeadeatly. Due to fact that this unit had already been through Quigley and I had already paid for that I demanded more info. I was finally told I could still have the vehicle if I wanted it. and that they (the factory) would have a ford dealer fix it. The bill for the fix was $752. dollars which tells you what cost really is.
Could it be that some get funneled into auctions by a few unscrupulas people

My original dealer (Covert Ford in Austin) called me yesterday and said that Ford is allowing those people whose vehicles were damaged in the hail storm to resubmit their orders and that they will be given the highest priority. So I cancelled from Lonestar, sorry Cochise, and reordered from my original salesman. Dealer says I should see my truck in about 4 - 6 weeks.

You still would've probably gotten it sooner from Cochise.
Hope your dealer comes through.
