Just got off the phone with Bobby and conference call with VOPC. Bad news for anybody ordering a truck similar to mine. My truck, built 8/10 and “Held at Factory for Quality Assurance Inspection” for 19 days has turned into a “STOP SHIP” ON MY TRUCK AND 2400 OTHERS. They are not devulging what the issue is and are not giving any estimate of anticipated release of these trucks. Mine is an automatic so this must be a different problem than with the manual transmission or the passenger seat issue. Anybody have any idea on what the problem might be with the lariats? John,
Your unit has been produced and has an ETA the week of 09/10.

That's the problem. Produced doesn't guarantee anything. Mine was produced 8/10 with an ETA of 9/3 Nothing left to do but go to the garage and look at the table of upgrade parts waiting.
Thanks guys for the encouragement. Even with delay I'm still just as excited as the day I ordered. The real info here is that there is 2400 trucks on hold with a stop ship order with no explanation as to why. Not just mine.
SoCalBob, Thanks, I was hoping the bright red 4x4 dually beast would just blend in. Is your Oilguard installed? Where did you end up mounting it and where'd you get the hose?
Wait????????????????????????????????
You don't know what wait means. I have been planning my truck for 3 years. When my "97 is off the books, I will order the new one, so I don't ever have to say: "I wish I never sold my '97" They just keep getting better. I am glad I don't have a 1999 now.
Hey Zahndok, you really think a BIG RED DUALLY 4x4 is going to blend in here ? Heck no, it will be really easy to spot you. I haven't installed the oil guard yet, next oil change. ( with synthetics)
Well, I'm happy to update this thread that my truck ordered 5/15, Built 8/10 and on Quality Assurance hold since 8/10 has finally been released to railcar and should finally be here next week. Thanks go to Bobby for keeping me from losing my mind while waiting out the still unexplained stop ship order. I finally know it's true now that I have a railcar # to trace. Where is Amourdal, Ks. anyway?
How do go about tracking a truck on the railcars? I am relatively sure that mine will come by truck from Louisville to Indianapolis, but it would be handy to know anyway?

quote:
Where is Amourdal, Ks. anyway?

I don't think TOTO or Dorthy could find it on a map now days. It's a small siding track in the NE part of Kansas. Lots of places along the railroads still have town site names from way back!!!! The only maps that I've ever seen that showed them were old county / parish maps that still show the old info. Lots of times it wasn't anything more than a water tank along the siding. -- Marc
