Is the true blue or the other blue is the darker of the 2?
In the 2004 Ford F-250/F-350 book is shows a F-350 sport in ture blue and it looks pretty bright.
I want a dark truck look but not a black truck
Thanks Ricki

Ricki,
The brochures never give the colors justice!
The "True Blue" is a pretty dark color. Check out the Member Galleries here and you'll probably find a picture to browse at. Another color that's pretty dark that looks real good is the "Dark Shadow Grey"

Thanks Bobby I am not sure I care for a Dark Shadow Grey, maybe if I saw a XLT Crew Cab daully in that color to see what it looks like. I like the darker truck color to go with my aluminum cattle trailer.
I like the True Blue but wonder what the Dark Shadow grey daully looks like

I wonder if the picture is an 03 sport in the book. It was sonic blue which was a much brighter blue. They changed to the true blue for the sport in 04 which is pretty deep.

Does the sport package only offer the auto?
If you have not made up your mind for sure, you might want to talk to some of the folks on this site that have the 6 speed. Seems many of them are not that impressed with the performance along with the 6.0L. I think it makes it power too high in the rpm's for the 6 speed to be a good match up.
Just my opinion, but I would talk to some folks.

Yes, it is a requirement for the option.

By the same token, if you're avoiding the auto because of past experience with auto transmissions in general, or the E4OD/4R100 specifically, you owe it to yourself to test drive one with the new auto. It's an amazing difference!

I have not driven an auto with the 6.0, my experiance hauling cattle and much of the time pullin forward and backin up to hit the gates and chutes just right I perfer an manual transmission.
Also like to put the truck in 1st gear and creep across fields while loaded on my way out to the hwy. I am off road so much on the farm I have had manual transmisson diesel since 1996.
kinda of hard ot go back to an auto

I talked to a guy at a truck stop on my last trip that had a dually with a Lance camper and pulling a pretty heavy trailer. He traded in his Dodge Cummins for this truck and he got the 6 speed for some of the same reasons you listed, and he did not like it at all. This engine does not not make the torque like your Dodge does at low speeds and off idle. Doing what you do with a truck, you may not like the new 6.0L 6 speed either. Read some of the threads on this site and you will find lots of people complaining about low end power with the 6 speed.

I got a couple shots of a True Blue with the sun hitting it. It is basically a navy blue, and in the sunlight, it looks like my 98 moonlight blue does in the shade. True Blue True Blue2
The medium wedgewood blue which I didn't take pics of, is more of a "dusty" shade of dark blue, but it is lighter than the dark wedgewood blue, and compared to the True Blue, it also seems to have a slight purple tint to it.
Either way, they are all "hand wash weekly's"

My Dad got the Wedgewood blue and your right, it does have a slight purple tint to it, especially in the sun. Almost like a pearl type paint. Kind of cool, but I like the true blue better as I want the sport package.
Have you seen a true blue sport yet?
