Build date information?

I ordered a (MY) F350 PSD on 10/26/00. The dealer was very prompt and provided me with the DORA dated 10/26/00 and also a VIN today. My question is after looking over the DORA where is/ when will I see the actual build date or is this to soon for that information to show up from Ford?

Also, Thanks to everyone for all the previous good advise and great information on this site. It made me a wise and prepared purchaser.

Re: Build date information?

jgamester, it may be too soon but since you have your VIN, I'd be asking the dealer anyway since a build date should be forthcoming shortly if it isn't available yet... the VIN is getting in the ballpark.

Wow! Ordered Thursday and received a Vin on Friday. Perfect timing. The "factory" pulls the orders on Friday, so yours got there just in time for this week's pull. So your order is now scheduled for build.

The info will probably be on the Dealer's "daily" status change report on Monday, so you should know by Monday night. At the latest the dealer will know when he receives his next "weekly" report - probably next Friday.

The build date is not a date - it's a "week of" that begins on a Monday. For example the week of November 6 means the order is scheduled to be assembled between November 6 and November 13.
