Hi, I have been waiting for my build date since July 20. So just for fun I took all the orders and build dates from the “2001 build date survey post” and calculated the average time from their order dates to their build dates to see were I was in the average. Remember that this is only for the trucks that have received a build date and all orders are very different. The average time was 41.6875 days from order date to build date.
Thanks, BIG E 7
I hate to be a wet blanket on your fire of enthusiasm, but your numbers are meaningless. The numbers are distorted because the production line didn't even start until late July, so all those that ordered in May and June were guaranteed a build date at least 30 to 60 days after the order date.
If you want the data to mean something, then use only those orders that were entered into the system after the July 31 beginning of production for 2001 models.

I’m sorry Smokey, but I do not understand, you said the production line did not start until Late July? Then why are 01 on the pavement? What do you mean 3001? I only did this for fun as I said in my post; this could never be accurate do to many variances in orders. Only one truck ordered after July 31, 00 has a build date. Zinc ordered his on 8/3 and has a build date of 8/28. So I guess 25 days should have been the number?

I think Smokey made a little typo when he wrote 3001. He meant 2001. About the production line, the 2001s didn't begin production until July 31. It's now three weeks later, that's why some are already on the street. Mine should be here before the end of the month.

You know what? If you do that test for everyone that ordered during the month of August, I'll bet the answer will be real close to 25 days. Somewhere between 21 and 28 days should be "average".
I wasn't putting down your efforts - just telling everybody that your results will not be the same as for those that order today. Your results showed almost 6 weeks average between order and build date, when the "normal" during the model year is about 3 to 4 weeks.
