Build Out "03", Order Bank Open "04"

Gentlemen,

Cochise here. It's that time of the year again. If you are on the fence about an "03" you are about out of time.

Super Duty:

"03" Final Fleet Order Receipt Date 05/16/03, Job Last Date 06/29/03
"04" Order Bank Open 05/19/03, Job #1 07/14/03

"04" F-Series LD Super Crew
(All New F-150) Order Bank Open 03/17/03, Job #1 07/21/03

Both Bobby and myself are ready and willing to help. Just drop a line.

Re: Build Out "03", Order Bank Open "04"

Hey Cochise,

Have you heard if there's going to be a Long Bed (8') Super Crew F150?

Everyone's saying that it'll only have the 5.5' bed.

Also, any pricing on the 04 F150's?

I'm sitting on the fence right now.. F350 or F150 SC LB.

Sorry if this is off topic

Re: Build Out "03", Order Bank Open "04"

Sbinsdca,

Cochise here. You are not too far off base. There are no plans for an eight foot box on the Super Crew. While I have access to the specs and options there is no published pricing available at this time.

Yea, Bobby and I both have more than just the Super Duty units at our disposal. Feel free to drop a line about other models of the Ford line to our personal e-mail.

Hey Cochise,

EagleScout here with the Yankee 01 Platinum Edition. Any word on 04 Excursions? Are they still on the spec sheet?

Thanks!

Re: Build Out "03", Order Bank Open "04"

04 !!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes. I have been waiting 6 months now. I still "DON't " have a truck. I basically have waited nearly the entire model year for a truck - and still don't have one.

Someone wrong here folks.

Re: Build Out "03", Order Bank Open "04"

Well it only took 5 months to finally get mine. Pretty much 1/2 way through the model year. Seems like they should have given me an advance build of the 2004 instead.

Now be fair - yours was a 6-speed, wasn't it? They had a delay of a few months before they released those for production, so it's not like they'll all take 5 months now, or even that they intended to not have the 6-speed ready on time. Me, I'd much rather wait those extra months than be one of a chorus of people here going "my input shaft snapped!" or "my clutch grenaded!" (or whatever it was that Ford wanted to fix before releasing that combination.)

Cochise, this is great news for me and my wife, for we are planning on ordering are 04 Excursion in January 04, place a big down payment next year with tax refund. But we went to 3 different dealerships here in central lower Michigan and they both have told us that the 03' were it for the X. Any reason why they would tell me this? Please let me know, my wife and I dont want to miss out on our new excursion 6.0 Thanks Jerry

Yes.

1. They are stupid.

2. They want to sell you an '03 today, not an '04 9-12 months from now.

3. Car salesman are liars (no offense Cochise). That's what they do. That's how they earn their money.

Re: Build Out "03", Order Bank Open "04"

Medic,
We were told the exact same thing, though I think it was an uniformed salesperson in this case. Elsewhere in this forum the date of June 04 was thrown out as the last possible order date for an 04 Excursion. This assumes a full production run. Just to be on the safe side, I think we'll be placing ours about a year from now.
