Build your truck online now

Looks like Ford got the '08 stuff on their web site now. Its no longer a "future truck".
Kind of cool, on the build your truck feature, it lists prices and good info for each and every option.

What I want just totalled up to a $1009 monthly payment....

Re: Build your truck online now

Looks like a similar vehicle to my current one would be about 10k more. But thats a new engine, and some goodies i don't have now. I guess i thought it would be a lot more than that.

Re: Build your truck online now

just for grins I did a truck on the bobby Williams site that was identical to mine.

the 08 is $42,570
the 06 is $38,665

the difference is all base price ($1900) and engine ($1800).

Re: Build your truck online now

That's friggin nuts! Add insurance, crappy fuel mileage, and high maintenance on top of that and Ford is as good as gone.

I'm in the market for another truck for work under a company reimbursement plan. I can guarantee it won't be a new Ford, and if the other two are doing the same thing, it won't be a diesel. Gassers are getting better mileage, lower maintenance, and are nearly $15K cheaper.

My lowly underpowered, noisy '01 will have to stay in the driveway until the weekends.

Re: Build your truck online now

Someone enlighten me. I just went through this build your own site as a check against what I ordered. On the site you can't get a KR with tailgate step!! Strange or did I do it wrong? Also, I noticed the extra heavy duty battery was standard but on my order slip it was an additional cost. What do I get when my truck shows up--what I ordered three weeks ago or what is available now??
Confused.

Maybe the step is part of the KR package???
I know the one I drove saturday had a step on it.

I dunno, seemed like every time I clicked on another option, it would lock out others, or shade in others.

Re: Build your truck online now

I went back and checked. The tailgate step was not part of KR package. If you started with a Lariat you could add the step but not if you started with a KR. I'm going to call the dealer. I agree with you, I have also seen KR with tailgate steps. Geess Ford get it right!
Thanks

Re: Build your truck online now

I can't even build my truck. It times out to a blank page when I start adding all the options on the last step. I was trying to configure my exact truck that I have on order: SD CC 6.4L Auto Lariat 20" Rims Dk Shadow Grey Stone Int Black Accent and a host of options on the last page.

I have attempted the build 5 times between yesterday and this morning with the same result. Has anyone else had this problem? BTW, I have a very good Broadband connection and don't think this is the problem.
