Built and released from plant

Yup, salesman just confirmed it. Two weeks to go till delivery. Funny though, my credit union cannot find my truck's VIN in their database. Wonder how much longer that will take to show up?

Re: Built and released from plant

Congrats on the good news. I hope you don't have to wait as long as I have. My new truck was built right at the 8 week point but I am now on week 12 and still waiting on it to be delivered to the dealer. So far it's taken over 4 weeks to ship it from KY to Alabama. Two mules and a covered wagon could have made the trip by now.

Re: Built and released from plant

Well Congratulations, I have come to the conclusion that mine is probably not going to be built. I think it is in never never land. You should tell your salesman that you have a buddy who needs some info.....maybe he can find out about mine.

Glad that YOU got some good news. Snake eyes is still waiting too....

Congrats again....now the wait for delivery agony begins for you.

Re: Built and released from plant

I would be real bummed knowing that my new truck(not made one payment yet)is sitting at a rail yard for a month. I work around, near heavy commuter rail. That steel "dust" ain't too friendly to paint jobs. That "stuff" can fly up in the air and get imbedded in paint very easy. We see it all the time, and we park as far away from the rails as possible.

Re: Built and released from plant

Congrats Captskup, you are short timeing now.

Don't they shrink wrap them on the rail car? I have seen rail cars with cars going down the track and they were shrink wrapped, or it looked that way. Looks like with all the graffiti spray going on they would have to protect them some way. I guess most of them make it through unskathed anyway.

Re: Built and released from plant

I think that is only for Audi, MB, BMW, etc.. I don't think our lowly American brand vehicles get that treatment. They have some protection aboard the rail cars but out in the open enviroment while waiting shipment. Think they all have their keys in the ignitions? Do you think the shuttle drivers allow the engine to warm a bit before moving the vehicles about the yards? Don't you wish you the owner, got to drive the truck off of the assembly line, no one else touching it? Anybody hear if it is true that "Bubba the Love Sponge" is going to be a KTP tomorrow watching his F-450 being built? Hope he doesn't pee on my tires or spit in the bed.

Re: Built and released from plant

A real goober radio jock who found a home on Sirius sat radio after getting booted off public airwaves. While I listen at times to Howard Stern, this bubba character to me is pretty awful, possibly the worst. I already told Sirius if their intent was to place Bubba in Stern's slot when Stern's contract is up, they might as well cancel my subscription same time. Think his home base is Tampa, he just reminds me of so many of the redneck, mullet headed, wife beater t-shirt wearing, tatooed whitless idiots that called the west side of Jacksonville, Fl home (I was stationed at NAS Cecil Field for many years in the 80's).
Just my humble opinion

Re: Built and released from plant

Ah, that rings a bell. Thanks for the info Skup.

And hey Kevin, I just got an update from the Sunrise Ford site and as of 5/10 I'm showing "Bucked" or in other words...no dang change.

I guess I'm going to end up with a Friday truck or maybe no truck at all this week...I'm hoping that fordKTPGuy was right when he debunked the Mon/Fri build myth a while back!

Does anybody know how firm "build weeks" are? If I'm scheduled for a build week of 5/7 does that mean that it HAS to be built sometime between Mon and Fri of that week? fordKTPGuy? Bueller? Anyone?

John

Re: Built and released from plant

Way to go. It's getting closer and closer for you. Been watching for when yours was built. for me after they built took about another three weeks to have in my hands. goes to railyard then problems because they can only put one on each car carrier. Wonder where yours will be put into railyard. Washington, or Baltimore. But it will get there and it will be worth the wait....and the neighbors will be in awe of your real truck.

Re: Built and released from plant

Congrats Skup.

Yours is on the way, mine is not even built.

It will be a shame to have waited all this time and then you have to take a walk over trade in value. Hope that does not happen and that your truck gets here soon.

I am about to give up on mine....I have waited for a truck since December and still do not have one. I went and looked at a Freightshaker with a tow bed on it yesterday. That would be a nice ride could I afford it. But not enought justification.

Congrats again Skup...

Kevin

Mine was delivered the first day of the week they said it would be here. My bank and my insurance company was both unable to look up the VIN, but I got financed and insured anyway.
