Ca Emissions

I have noticed some of you order your trucks out of state and then have them dropped shipped to your local dealer. Now I live in So. Cal. My sister lives in WA. and works at a dealership up there. She said she can get the A-plan pricing for me if I order a 01 but if I take one from stock it might not be worth it to convert it over to CA emissions. Does anyone know what CA emissions entails and how much does it cost.
thanks.
Oh with A-plan pricing do qualify for better financing with FoMoCo. just wishful thinking
Dean.

Re: Ca Emissions

As far as I know, CA emissions is a zero dollar checkoff option.

Re: Ca Emissions

way back when I lived in the midwest, there were a couple of dealers in kentucky that had tons of vehicles with cal emissions! when asked, the salesman told me that they sell so low that lots of people fly out to buy, so they order them with cal smog just in case. dont know the dealers name, but it was some dealer between henderson and louisville. (15 yrs ago)
anyone have the zip code for henderson? I might see what the list price comes up as back there, compared to here.

Re: Ca Emissions

Hmmm I remember smokey saying something about you could not get an F350 CC psd with 4:10,s on a CA vehicle, how about if I order it out of state. Would that work. I plan on putting 35 or 36 in tires and would want that gearing anyways

Re: Ca Emissions

NY also uses CA emissions. Must be certified to be able to register. I have a 350 DRW with crew cab and 4.10LS, so I don't believe that last post is correct. Maybe I'm wrong, tho.

Re: Ca Emissions

Having bought truck using the A-Plan, you usually get the same financing deal. Also you only qualify for the A plan if your or someone in your immediate family is an employee of the Ford Motor Company.......independant dealers and such dont qualify.......

Re: Ca Emissions

Bought mine from dealer in Utah. No problem ordered with the Cal. emissions (no exrta cost). Only thing you will need for registration is a weight cert. & pay the sales tax & license fee
