Chrome Running Board(s) Suspended or on Hold!

Found this, not sure how many orders it affects:

F150 (2003) – CHROME RUNNING BOARDS SUSPENDED as STAND-ALONE OPTION
Please be advised, Chrome/Bright Polished Running Boards have been suspended as a standalone option on F-Series SuperCab/CrewCab until further notice. This includes F-150 (Order Code 18C)and F-250/350 (Order Code 18K). This does not affect specialty vehicles (i.e., STX, Heritage Edition, King Ranch or XLT Sport) or any National/Regional packages.

F-150 (2003) – CHROME RUNNING BOARDS (18C) ON HOLD
as STAND-ALONE OPTION **CDN** Effective immediately and until further notice, due to higher than expected demand Chrome
Tubular Running Boards (option code 18C) is on HOLD when ordered as a STAND-ALONE option. It will continue to be available with packages including King Ranch (63K), Heritage Limited Edition (47H) and STX Edition (47Y).

On the Lariat, what does this mean. Lariat is a package, but stand alone. All all our Lariat models on Production Delays now for this?

Re: Chrome Running Board(s) Suspended or on Hold!

Ford can keep the chrome step off of my XLT Sport if it would have delayed my production. It is one of the first things I am going to yank off the truck. Anyone want a brand new set cheap.

Re: Chrome Running Board(s) Suspended or on Hold!

My truck is delayed because of this, with no tentative release date right now. Everything on my order has been locked in thus far, so I think Ford is running behind on orders. This doesnt say if it's for job 1 or job 2. Any's guess is my clue.

Re: Chrome Running Board(s) Suspended or on Hold!

Now I shouldn't laugh, because I have been involved in manufacturing before and I know what a rat's net of interlocking problems it is... but it sure sounds like the folks responsible for procuring chrome steps weren't really clued in by marketing or anyone on how many *more* chrome steps they were going to need this year, what with them coming by default in things like the XLT Sport package. Looks obvious in retrospect, but easy to miss in the hustle to launch the new product....

Re: Chrome Running Board(s) Suspended or on Hold!

$445.00? Where did this figure come out of? I was charged only $65.00 for my steps. I am going to wait a week. I don't think I have lost my place in production but it's just delayed from being built right now and when they have them in stock they will build by truck. My original date is 11/18, so who knows.

Re: Chrome Running Board(s) Suspended or on Hold!

Chrome steps are $445 on an XLT, the standard ones are $370. The Lariat comes with the standard ones, so there is only a $75 charge for adding the chrome steps.
