Grabbed a rental car & drove (flew?) down to Houston Friday morning to pick up my new truck - met Cochise, who was amazed that my "before lunch" timeframe turned into 9:30 am! (It's a 3 1/2 hour drive - can you say "Excited"??? ;-)
Thorough, professional, and actually cool, Cochise took great care of me, and was very patient while my bank got their story straight. He even shuttled me to the rental place at the airport to drop off the car!
I'm very happy I ordered from such a professional - I considered ordering locally, but with all the stories here of people doing that on the x-plan & then asking Cochise or Bobby to bail out their deal after their dealer screwed it up, I decided the peace of mind would be worth the short trip - it was!
The wierd thing: I was expecting a guy named "Cochise" to be a Willie Nelson-looking guy - and here is a guy in a shirt & tie! (See link in my sig for photos)
Since Friday I've put ~600 miles on teh truck & it's a great driving machine!
Thanks again, Cochise - it's a great truck, and you're a pleasure to do business with!
It was nice to meet you Friday and put a name with a face. I had actually been to the Jeep Therapy web site before I found FD.
I second the motion here. Cochise is the friendliest and most helpful salesman I have met in my although small vehicle buying experience. I thought I could not afford to put my fanny in a PSD until I started talking to Cochise. Cochise also did not charge me for several hundred dollars worth of "processing fees" that were clearly printed all over the paperwork.
He said "that doesn't apply to you."
Cochise was able to make a long time dream a reality for me. Cochise will treat you right folks.

Puddlejumper: Nice to meet you too! I enjoyed checking out your sweet truck before you got there! It seems I was earlier than they expected me! So who got to ride back with you?
Gabby - it was a fun trip, and Cochise is a great guy to do business with - even if I was expecting a Willie-Nelson! I'm on the north end of town, along the freeway - Big Muthah' RED truck with "Lone Star Ford" plates.
Oh - AND - they called today - the plates are here already!
AND ONE MORE THING - I noticed all the trucks on the lot had a plastic "Lone Star" stuck to the tailgate. I had shot Cochise an email weeks ago asking if we could skip that, and forgot about it...guess what's NOT on my truck??? Yup, no cheesy emblem!
Cochise, the company I work for has offices all over the world and it just so happens we have our training facility here in Austin. I will be going home for a while and coming back in a couple weeks. Would be cool if somehow I can find time to get to Houston. We'll see.

Jeep Therapy - Thanks for the compliments on the truck. Same to you. I noticed you got the F-350 with the Fire Engine Red. You might just get a ticket standing still!
I just want to know when does the euphoria stop or is this what the perma grin is all about. I am ridin 10 feet tall (literally)! It's hard to be humble friends.
Yeeha!

Nice photo, puddlejumper - looks even better in your own driveway, doesn't it?
I'm over 700 miles already - and it's only ~200 back to here!!!
I have a red doege (I'm selling), and wondered if I wanted another red truck. Looked at all the other colors. Man, I'm glad I got red - even just thinking about it my breathing goes shallow all over again! I LOVE RED TRUCKS!!!!
Have you tried flooring it from 60 mph? (warmed up already, of course)?? WOW!
Gabby, I'm at Parmer & I-35 (Dell). If you want to hook up for some good mexican food while you're here & see the truck, drop me a line at my work email address: jeff_layton@dell.com

Yeah, I was surprised by the tie. I was expecting a bandanna, or evena bolero, but not a tie! At least he didn't act like a car salesman!
Nice truck Jeff. Looks just like my truck except CC where mine is SC. I would have preferred a CC but Leif Johnson has been good to us and treated us well on this deal. They took care of the x-plan just fine as well.
Did you ever figure out how you are going to install a sub? I am thinking about making my own box to fit in the center console. The directions for the stealthbox are on JL's website and it looks like it wouldn't be too hard to create your own box and mount it in a similar fashion.
