I was checking the dealers near me and noticed that all of the SD's (3) list "convoy" as means of delivery from KTP. I assume convoy means car carrier/truck, correct(mileage on all trucks less than 50)? If so can I check progress if shipped by truck? Are there any "rules" that delegate if a truck delivered to southern Michigan will come rail or truck such as distance from the plant? Thanks.

Virtually all units show convoy on the stickers as that is how they leave the plant. Most assembly facilities no longer have the real estate required to have railyards for transportation co-located, hence most units leave the plant by motor convoy to railhead serving that plant.
There are several reasons for this. One is the high price of real estate in metro areas. Along with this there are normally several plants in near proximity (Louisville Assembly and KTP). By using a common railhead, all the plants using the facility can save money and space.

Thanks for the info. Do you have any idea if SD trucks sent from KTP to southeast MI would be sent by rail or truck? I am just getting a little excited and want to try to track my truck. I believe I can through the bnsf website but if sent by truck I have no idea. Thanks, appreciate it.
