Country of Origin?

I was under the impression that the SD was built in Kentucky. But I have seen several posts refer to the "Mexico" plant.

I really didn't want a Mexico product. So how can I be assured that my VIN # will start with the # "1" ?

Thanks
Kegster

Re: Country of Origin?

The only sure-fire way I can think of is to order an Excursion, not a pickup. AFAIK those are only made at KTP.

Of course if you're shopping trucks on dealer lots you can obviously make looking at the VIN one of your purchasing criteria.

Re: Country of Origin?

Well the Excursion is out of the question. And yes when I am looking at SD on the lot I make it a point to look at the VIN.

But what about when you "order" a SD? You may get something you don't want. Can you tell them you don't want it, or are you stuck with it?
