a couple questions about ordering my new 350

1) does anyone have pic's of the new for 05 color "Dark Stone Metallic"? and if posable in a 2 tone with Arizona Beige on the bottom flanks? i'm kind of sure that is the color i want but can not find a truc in that color.

2) the dealership that i'm useing has the exstended warranty plan were they return your money after 6 years if you don't use it. (they have other plans, but this is the plan we have used before). what are some of the thoughts on extended warrenty plans?
3) and is there a web page that you can build your truck and see ALL the options, priceing, and some pic,s of the rims for the 2005(the only page i can find is for the 2004)

4) also my dealer can't seem to tell me what the "upfitter" switches are for, can anyone? sounds like they are for cb's etc. that are pre-wired?

i have my build sheet here and would like to check it on a 2005 build site so i can check my dealers workings. just to make sure that i have all the options i want.

5) also is the dealer installed rust inhibitor a good idea? or are there better options?

thank you.
jim

Re: a couple questions about ordering my new 350

I can help you with 2 things..first and foremost I got a really good price from Ed Miller the fleet sales manager at Reynolds Ford in East Moline Ill. He is in your neck of the woods and like Bobby and Cochise is a straight up outstanding guy. As for the upfitter switches...they are 4 switches wired through the fuse box for things you would normally drill holes into the dash to mount switches for after market products such as lights or anything else. They are cheap (like $60) and worth it as an option.

I will try to snap a photo of a 05 that just hit the local dealer lot, its an XLT monotone color short bed. I went by tonight to get one and it was off the lot. I did test drive it earlier in the day... yahoo.

Re: a couple questions about ordering my new 350

1. Does the truck come with the self dimming rear view mirror with the compass or tempiture in it.

2. I know in the past the lariate was only was an option for extened and crew cab but can you get it in a reg. cab. I like the climate control option it has.

Re: a couple questions about ordering my new 350

Cat320 the XLT I drove didn't have the self dimming mirror or any outside temp/compass. This one was pretty basic. The specs and order numbers for it are on www.lithiaford.com you'll have to look up the #'s since they didn't show the description with it yet, but then again it just hit the lot.

Re: a couple questions about ordering my new 350

I test drove a new 05 that had the lariat package and still there was no compass/temp or self dimming mirror. It seemd to me that the only thing that the lariat package included was the leather. Now I'm sure there is more to it than that, but that was my impression. I figured all the other goodies must come in a different convenience group

Re: a couple questions about ordering my new 350

I ordered out My '87 F-150 new in Feb. '87 from Reynolds Ford in E.Moline, IL. I lived about 2 miles down the road from them at the time. Unless they moved since last Nov. '03 they're NO WHERE near Ohio...... But I know what You mean.....They always seem to have Quite a few trucks on the lot. Sexton Ford in Moline, IL. and Lindquist Ford in Bettendorf, IA, and especially RIVER CITY Ford in Davenport, IA. have trucks galore as well. River City was the truck only dealer, kept a few pickups around as well.
