Dealer Holdbacks

As I negotiate for a new 08, I'd like to know what the dealer holdback is. I think I read somewhere it's 3%. Is that 3% of MSRP, 3% of actual selling price, etc.? Do they still get that holdback on an X-Plan deal?

Thanks
Gary

Re: Dealer Holdbacks

They get holdback no matter of the deal or plan. My new '08 was sold to me at invoice (I think about $60 over x-plan) about $48,022 and the holdback was about $1584, the MSRP of my new truck was $52,800 We also just bought and '07 cab & chassis and the holdback was around $1084 the MSRP was around $33,000

Re: Dealer Holdbacks

Holdback is 3% of MSRP price. Blue Oval dealers get 4.25% holdback but the extra 1.25% come from invoice. I'm almost positive they get the holdback on X plan but not certain. Look at the links below.

Re: Dealer Holdbacks

How do you know if your dealer is a Blue Oval dealer?

Re: Dealer Holdbacks

Go to http://www.fordvehicles.com/dealerships/locate/ and notice the 2nd tab over says "Blue Oval Dealers". Most are going to have signs up promoting it since it shows they have better customer service than other dealers.

Re: Dealer Holdbacks

Thanks. Very cool, too, since every dealer (10) within 25 miles of me is Blue Oval certified.
