Dealer Invoice Items??

My first post, but have been lurking and learning for a while. Am still dealing on an '01 F350 and have a question on two items on dealer's invoice: "18 US Gal Gas" at $34.20 and "FDAF Assessment" at $165.00. Other than "gas" should read "diesel" are these legit? The invoice pricing sites do not list them on their invoices but two dealers have and one has not.

Hi, kansas, and Welcome! to Ford-Diesel.com.

Yep, they're legit. All dealer invoices have a charge for fuel and for FDAF.

The invoice pricing sites don't list them because the fuel charge changes often [with the price of fuel] and the FDAF varies by Ford region. FDAF stands for something like "Ford Dealers' Regional Advertising Fund" - and the dealers in that region vote on how much to charge. It varies from about $50 to $500, and your region at $165 is about average.

The FDAF is used to pay for those generic newspaper and TV ads that end in something like "See your Eastern Kansas Ford Dealer for details!
