Re: dealer is trying to screw me on price ;evel
I don't know what the "level" you mentioned means, but isn't placing an order at a agreed upon price (in writing?) like a contract to buy this for that amount of money? IMO the price is what you negotiated it to be when you ordered. It seems this was verified by you referring to VIN. I would think that changing the deal after it has been made would be no deal.
I have heard of schemes where vehicles where purchased and loan terms made and put to paper, only to get a call maybe 2 weeks later saying "they didn't approve the loan, you're going to have to come up with more money, or payment is going up" This happened to my oldest daughter, and a co-worker. In her case they actually lowered her selling price to get deal thru. Now I found out after this all happened. I told her she had a legal contract from dealer binding both sides to the terms, NOT just her! The dealer didn't really had loan approval the first time thru or finance company couldn't have done that. If not for fact the dealer had to lower selling price to her the second time to get approval I wouldn't have believed it!
Maybe you should tell dealer if price isn't as negotiated, you aren't interested in truck, and will take your business some place else.
