Diesel F350 on Order

Does it take longer for a diesel to be built than a gas truck? I ordered the truck on feb 15th. I called to see if there was a vin yet but the dealer said that there wasn't.

Re: Diesel F350 on Order

Diesels are built at the same time or faster than gasers. But your problem sounds like the dealer does not have allocation for your order, plus the 05 order deadline is coming up real soon Go find the guy at the dealer which is charge of their ordering and get some answers fast

Re: Diesel F350 on Order

Hope to get my VIN this week. I ordered mine Feb 22 and got it in under the dealers allocation. So far, no VIN, no ETA. Hopefully mine's getting built soon too. So with a VIN, they tell me I can go down there and finalize the papers so that I can capitolize on the current rebates before they expire, is that true? Also, what are the opinions on what they may do for April? I know no one has ESP, but I'm just interested in opinions based on experience!

Re: Diesel F350 on Order

Well, I got my VIN today and they are expecting to see the truck in a few weeks. It hasn't been built yet, they say "it's on the ramp"... not sure what that means... all I know is I'm a little closer today. Plus they said at any time now I can go in and sign the papers and take advantage of the $2K back. I have them looking into whether or not the dealer (owner) would allow me to wait till the day after this incentive is expired to see what the new ones are and then if they are worse, if they'll backdate the papers to put me back into the current incentives. Heck, if they'll do it, no risk on my part... if they can't I guess I'll contemplate the option of risking the same/higher incentive versus a lower/none next month and determine whether I sign the papers now or next month. Re: Diesel F350 on Order

dont worry about the rebates, they are going to be getting better or stay the same. i have been watching the incentive game for over two years and it has never gone against the buyer. i am betting they want your money just in case you back out for some reason: built wrong, damaged in shipping, etc. i have two trucks on order and i am not paying till i see it in person and meets my approval.

Re: Diesel F350 on Order

Good point, hadn't really put it all together and looked at it quite like that. That sounds like the best reason to wait that I've heard yet!

Thanks

Re: Diesel F350 on Order

Now I'm told "Ramp" status means the truck has reached the rail yard near your dealer awaiting a truck hauler. I was told mine was built two weeks ago and I'm in "Ramp" status. Confusing.

I had heard the same thing. At the same time when they told me this, they said it hadn't been built yet. So maybe there are two ramps?!?!

Anyway, the dealer did call me yesterday to tell me they got invoiced for the truck (so I assume it is built now) and they should see the truck in/on their lot in a couple weeks. So I think based on all the information everyone has provided (thanks by the way) I am going to hold off on signing papers till it comes in and hope that the incentives are as good or better than March's. I think they will be!
