Difference in Springs between the camper pkg and plow pkg

Does anyone know the difference in the front springs that come with the camper pkg and the plow pkg?

Re: Difference in Springs between the camper pkg and plow pkg

Both are "computer selected" based on exactly which options you have on your truck.

The detailed specs for 2005s are not out yet, but the max front GAWR as been increased from 5,200 to 6,000 pounds.

I suspect the front springs and front GAWR with the snowplow pkg will be rated at 6,000 pounds. And the front springs and front GAWR with the camper pkg will still be rated at a max of 5,200 pounds on CrewCab PSD 4x4s. But I won't know for sure until Ford releases the 2005 Ford Truck Source Book - which wasn't here yet when I checked with my dealer a few days ago.

The rear springs are not changed by either the snowplow or camper pkg. The camper pkg adds "auxiliary" or overload rear springs to some models, and the snowplow pkg does not. But the overloads do not increase the rear GAWR.

Re: Difference in Springs between the camper pkg and plow pkg

Thanks Smokey...I wanted a snow plow pkg on my truck I ordered...but my salesman said it could not be done on the CC short bed srw PSD. But as I have seen searching dealer inventory it is now allowable. Oh well, I'll just have to get the 6000 lb springs as aftermarket.

I ended up buying from Seraphin Ford in Vernon CT (about 2 to 2.5 hour ride from where I am in New Rochelle). They gave me the best price with in driving distance, without the attitude or hassel.

Your sales guys an idiot. I have the snow plow package on my 05 CC, short bed, srw PSD. Also adds a slightly higher amperage alternator.
