Hey Guys, Mostly Smokey, Cochise, Marty and Bobby, I have a couple a questions for you guys. I closed on my house and I have cash in hand and ready to order. My questions are:
1) If I have vechile dropped off at a dealer, doesn't the dealer that receives the drop kind of frown on that and then the prep, service, etc suffers?
2) Is it to early to order the SD King Ranch PSD, (6.0L and Auto 5 Speed)If so when would be a good time?
3) I have my X-Plan Number, should it be good on a SD King Ranch?
4) Where is a list of colors for 2003.25 SD KR located at?
5) If I choose to have my truck dropped, How would I pay cash to you guys for it. (Thanks Marty and Bobby for estimated pricing)
I am sure that now I have the money to get a PSD I will have many more questions. MAMA still wants a Queen Ranch though!!!!!

kcroyals85,
They finally gave me a break here at the RV Show here in Pomona, Ca so I will see if I can answer your questions. Glad to hear you are ready to place an order

Honestly, I don't think so. A dealership has 3 departments, sales, service & parts. They ALL want your business, atleast most do. We do several Drop Ships at our dealer, mostly for GE Capital & Enterprise Leasing. The dealer normally has a person that handles the Drop Ships that gets paid an hourly rate, so they don't really care that you bought from them or someone else. I guess it all depends on the dealer.

The sooner you order, the sooner it will get built. The longer you wait, the later in the year it will get pulled for production.

I have not heard yet if the SD KR is going to be available at X Plan pricing, IMHO, I doubt that your local dealer will honor it if they aren't a large volume dealer, only time will tell I guess.

Ford hasn't released the late availability order guides yet. Hopefully they will be available within the next month or so. As far as colors though, they will include:
1) CHESTNUT CC
2) ESTATE GREEN CC
3) OXFORD WHITE CC

The order and financing would ALL be arranged between you and the ordering dealer. The paperwork is overnighted back an forth between us. The only thing you will do at the dealer is pickup the truck. Depending on the Virgina DMV laws, they may also do your registration for you.

Keep the questions coming, one of us will get'em answered for you. I would like to mention that doing a Drop Ship deal is a VERY simple process, it sounds more complicated than it really is. You main thing is to do it with a dealer that knows what their doing, or it can turn out to be complicated
As far as getting MAMA a QUEEN RANCH, I don't know if I can help you there, but I'll look into it

I still doubt that those will be the colors, but I will defer to Bobby's judgement. Those are the F150 colors and are available on all 150's. They are not standard Superduty colors. I would bet the colors will be Highland Green, True Blue and Tor. Red or something like that.

Marty,
According to the Ford Concepts System, the colors I mentioned above are in deed going to be available. As a matter of fact, I have received DORA's back on the King Ranches that I ordered for stock using all the above colors. When you get a chance you should put a fake order into Concepts and press F1 in the color section.

I understand and agree those are the colors currently in the system. I just have doubts whether the trucks will actually be built in those colors.

That really bums me out that the recieving dealer doesn't mind geting trucks they didn't sell. I thought that was kind of like our way of letting them know we don't have to put up with there tactics. I am not ready to buy a new truck yet but I can say I have made my mind up to order from one of the guys on this site. I have been to the dealer here in Loveland and the one in Fort Collins looking at used trucks, (one at each place) that I was ready to buy, and they keep you there forever just to tell you all they can come down is 500 dollars. Then to top it off I see an ad for the exact truck the next day and they are down three or four thousand from what they told me. Sorry for the ranting, but when I'm ready to buy it's not going to be from them. By the way, thanks to the dealer from here that I got the price sheet off of your website, very helpful to see where I stand without bothering anyone.

Well Guys, I well tell you, the more I learn about what you all have taught me, the more I find Ding-Dongs. I will agree, the more I talk with dealers around here, that I will use one of you all that use this site to buy from. Why is it these dealers here in the D.C. area don't know "JACK." I just spoke with the second dealer who had no clue that King Ranch were coming out in the Super Duty. I will admit, I still don't know much and I drive you all crazy with my questions but I would think my local guys would know more than me. I was crazy enough to have him on the phone to look at this site, (Sorry if I over stepped my bounds doing that) Again, thanks to Cochise, Bobby Marty and Smokey for your education. They say information is powerful, but dang gone! Whew, thanks for the therapy session, I feel better now. I just need to see what the colors look like, then order.
