I drove a 2001 CC 4x4 today at planet ford in houston tx. It is quicker off the line than a 2000.True blue is an awesome color,I'm going to order one. Late

Shop around some more. There are dealers in Nebraska going 300 BELOW invoice on 2001 orders (offered up as an example).

I've been researching for myself except I think I'm going to wait out the CACKLE problem since I don't need a truck right now (just sold my 5th wheel and 97 PSD).

I've been asking around and it seems 35% of the folks on this board with 99's or newer are experiencing this "cackle" problem. That's enough for me.

Sure glad I don't need one or I guess I would still end up buying one. Hey, there's always the well proven 94-97's.

Hey Guys,

Not to dump on Planet Ford, but I was able to order a F250 4x4 PSD Lariat with a bunch of stuff at $500 over invoice at Bay Area Ford in Webster, Tx. I got it through Bobby McGill, the fleet manager. I don't know if he can get another any time soon, though. I was talking to him on Thursday, and he said that he was just about out of his allocations for the year. IF you can't get what you need soon enough there, try going to Texan Ford. Everybody seems to be raving about some sales guy named 'Cochise' over there who is selling at the same price that I got mine at Bay Area Ford, $500 over invoice.

BTW, I am expecting my new transportation to be at the dealership within 5-7 days. It's on the train, and on its way as of Wednesday. WHOOP!!!
