Dual alternators

I saw a new 2004 F350 CC 4x4 6.0L auto with dual alternators. The intercooler pipe is crimped to make the alternator fit, and the cable runs over the top of the intercooler. I plan on ordering dual alts in my 2005 F350 4x4 CC 6.0L auto to run an A/C inverter. Questions:

1. How does the crimp affect intercooler? (I would assume it does not, since it was done by Ford, but less air flow = less power.)

I wish I had not ordered them on my truck. After seeing the intercooler pipe I was ticked off plus the belt squeels when cold. Ford has a new belt out to help stop the noise, will take it in soon.

I have them with no apparent problems from the belts or the intercooler piping. I need them to power my 2K/4K inverter--works like being plugged into a wall socket. Now I can make margaritas and mudslides when dry camped. Gotta have the priorities straight.

I also have the dual alts - going in next Friday for the belt squeal.

As for the pipe - after a quick look around - sometime soon I'm going to have a local shop bend me a new custom pipe. Far as I am concerned there is plenty of room to run a new pipe.

There are high output, e.g. 200amp, alternators out there for the SuperDuty. It is an alternative to 2 small ones and crimped tubes and sqeally belts.
