I don't think it will make a difference. I also prefer the manual transfer case shift just as I am sure that anyone serious about needing 4WD would be. There are too many cases where the ESOF doesn't or hasn't worked when needed. Also if I need to pull my truck behind my Ranch tractors from on location to another I can put my transfer case in N and tow away even with an automatic transmission.
