Extraneous Fee Removal with X-Plan?

Howdy:

I posted on these forums a couple of years ago but have since forgotten my username; hence the new one. I would like to purchase a vehicle using my X-plan PIN. I read somewhere on here that if you use X-plan, the dealer cannot charge all of those miscellaneous fees. By miscellaneous fees, does that mean all of the dealer inventory fees, documentation fees, etc. that appear on that big yellow bill of sale? Also, all current rebates/finacing should apply even with X-plan, correct?

Thanks a bunch.

Re: Extraneous Fee Removal with X-Plan?

Dealers will still charge you their doc fees.

You just don't have to argue with them about "Market Adjustment" and other pure profit fees.

Rebates still apply ( if there are any listed for the vehicle you choose)

Re: Extraneous Fee Removal with X-Plan?

Checked www.fordpartners.com website and this is what I found in the FAQ's:
"Fees for doccumentation or similar administration services are not allowed."
If you have your partner code you can access the website and read down through the FAQ's for more information. I thought the documentation fees were off limits but I wanted to double check before I posted. My dealer did not charge any fees on either of my purchases. Dealers will still charge you their doc fees.

[/ QUOTE ] I suspect dealers can get away with charging that part of their doc fees that's for standing in line at the courthouse to pay the taxes and get license and title (TT&amp;L). But not their normal doc fees.

Here's an excerpt from the rules about a year ago. The only thing I know of that's changed is the invoice now shows the X-Plan price. Note the rule in red below. ( I scanned this, and didn't proof read it real close, so it may contain errors).

A/X/Z/D-Plan
Rules &amp; Procedures
10/07/01

DEALERSHIP OBLIGATIONS AND RULES

. …

. The customer is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, license and title fees.

. The New Vehicle Purchase Plan customer is entitled to the price in effect at the time the vehicle was invoiced. Any money refunded to the dealer by Ford Motor Company for price increases occurring after the order is submitted, but before shipment to the dealer, must be refunded to the customer.

. From time to time the Company may offer incentives or rebates. Unless announced otherwise, all A/X/Z-Plan customers are eligible for public retail incentives or rebates (Cash Rebates, APR, Lease, etc.). Dealer cash (flat payments) must be transferred to the A/X/Z participant. Also, most Stairstep Dealer Cash Programs offer an alternative A/X/Z flat payment, which must be passed to the customer.

. The dealership may require the New Vehicle Purchase Plan customer to make a deposit when placing a vehicle order. Some or all of this deposit may be retained by the dealership if the customer declines to accept delivery of the product ordered. An agreement in writing should be reached with the customer concerning the amount of the deposit and the conditions under which it may be retained by the dealership if the transaction is not completed.

. Lease transactions may require a refundable security deposit. The security deposit is held until the end of the lease and is refunded, provided that the lease terms have been satisfied. The deposit is usually equal to one month's payment, rounded to the next $25/$50.

. The dealer is required to provide a true copy of the factory invoice showing the New Vehicle Purchase Plan price in the box labeled "A-Plan". The customer must be provided with a completed and signed New Vehicle Purchase Plan/Red Carpet Lease Customer/Dealer Agreement and Pricing Sheet showing each item and its price. <font color="blue"> (Added by Smokey: the invoice now shows X-Plan price, too.) </font color>

<font color="red">. The dealership may also NOT charge separately for document preparation or other administrative services incidental to the delivery of the vehicle. These expenses are considered to be part of the dealer's normal cost of doing business for which the dealership is compensated by the commission paid. </font color>

. The New Vehicle Purchase Plan customer is entitled to the price in effect at the time the vehicle was invoiced. Any money refunded to the dealer by Ford Motor Company for price increases occurring after the order is submitted, but before shipment to the dealer, must be refunded to the customer.

. The dealership may charge any price negotiated between the dealer and the customer for undercoating, dealer installed options, extended service contracts and other items or services that add value to the vehicle, provided such items are priced separately and listed individually on the retail buyer's order and the New Vehicle Purchase Plan / Red Carpet Lease Option Customer / Dealer Agreement and Pricing Sheet.

WHAT ABOUT TRADE-IN, …?

Trade-in allowance is not covered by the New Vehicle Purchase Plan and must be negotiated with the dealership. …

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL CONDITIONS?

New Vehicle Purchase Plan transactions are subject to the following conditions:

. Vehicles must be reported sold, registered or titled only to the eligible Participant (PIN holder). ...Vehicles may not be registered or titled in the name of a business.

Re: Extraneous Fee Removal with X-Plan?

You should NEVER pay doc fee, proc. fee or anything else. Tax and tags and that's it.

Also, to get real close to the x plan pricing, do this: MRSP X .88 =

This will get you real close.

Happy shop ping!
