F-450 Max Traction Tires

Does anyone know what the Max Traction Tires are (manufacturer and model)? The General A/T don't look like they would do very well in the sand.
Thanks Mike

Re: F-450 Max Traction Tires

MCraven I am not sure either but will be ordering also and i know that in the ford commercial website they say that the max traction tires front and rear should not be used on road (Ill handling ) so it sounds like they are pretty aggressive but this is just speculation on my part I cant help you with make and model.

Re: F-450 Max Traction Tires

I'm setting up my 450 4x4 for pulling right now and the best max-traction tires I can find are Michelin XZT's.

I have a set of 6 Goodyear G-124's, right now and they're not bad. They have great street manners and do pretty good off-road.
I'm going to sell them and get the XZT's, though for muddy stuff.

Bubbster, I live in West Chester if you want to buy them.
85% tread left on 5 95% tread left on the 6th tire

Re: F-450 Max Traction Tires

Mgraven here is a link to a F550 with the tires you mentioned, at least I think they are.
Remember that these 19.5 are a low profile tire. The side walls are short and don't flex much when the going get rough. I believe Firestone makes the Max Traction.

http://www.whitedford.com/inventory/...e.asp?ID=64939

If these are like the old Firestone Super All Traction (had a chevron tread design) They will sing you to sleep. My wife could hear me coming home a mile away and nobody would drive next to you. Great offroad tire though, watch out if payment is wet, and snow and ice a definate no go.

This is from the order guide book, note the comment *Not recommended for on-road use*

225/70R19.5F SBR BSW MAX TRACTION TIRES
-inc: front & rear traction tires
*Not recommended for on-road use*
$215.00 $182.00 T9C

Re: F-450 Max Traction Tires

Duke I need a truck first my friend before i worry about buying new tires for it remember that mirror survey a couple of months back? we me and about 19 other guys on this website recieved a set of power trailer tow mirrors that will bolt right on a SD. Very cool but it is a bummer when you dont have the truck to put them on. I should be ordering around Jan/Feb was thinking a 450 with a standard bed applied by a company from Rochester looks stock around $5500 for the upfit and the bed is steel so that big 5ver is a possibility
