F250 Ordered, AGAIN! - Diesel Forum

So there I am, after 6 weeks, a VIN #, build week 2-18 and my dealer's sales manager lets slip "our allocation problem". "So y'all lied to me every business day and saturday for 6 weeks?", I asked. He said, "uhhhh". I said, "Tell ya what, gimme my thousand bucks back, Houston isn't that far!" Couple a' phone calls, couple a'emails and Cochise had my new order in, PAINLESS! (other than a couple rounds with a particularly nasty fax machine) My advice to anyone, save yourself alot of misery, call Cochise! The money I saved with Lonestar will pay for a few diesel goodies and put fuel in Dad's 95 350 CC DRW to go to Houston! I love it! Cochise, you da man!

Hi, Chuk, I didn't see this post, so I guess my dealer is not telling me the same thing, my build date is the same as yours 2/18.... but Houston is a little far for me!!! Good Luck and keep us posted, I bet you will get your 6spd before my son gets his!

Same problem here. I'm trying to order F-350 PSD for a month now. My local dealer is giving me the runaround. Gave him my Z-plan# and $1000 deposit a few weeks ago and as of yesterday the truck hasn't been ordered yet. I think he doesn't have the allocation. I'll give him one more day, then Fri I'm getting my deposit back and calling Cochisie to see if he can help to order my truck and drop ship it to a local dealer.

Hey Karin, Just got off the phone with the local crooks, he asked if I had another truck lined up. I told him the price I found and that it was in the works. He said the one I ordered had an ETA 3/11. The truck from Cochise probably won't beat it here, but definitely beat it in price and agg. factor! Bottom line; I don't like being lied to! You can tell me you were the golden gloves champ of your state or you caught and threw back a 6 lb. Bluegill, but don't tell me you have allocation to buy me a truck when you don't! Huh, Cochise? You know Karin, Cochise can drop ship to a local dealer.

MNQUEST, I'd tell your guy to explain the holdup, ie. allocation, and if you don't get a satisfactory reply yank your down pymt. and call someone who will give you results. Good luck. Ordering today might be in time to get picked up tomorrow!

Cochise here. It all comes down to allocation this time of the year. I will run out eventually, but not today.
Along with build out and this being the last of the 7.3L PSD engines in the S/Dutys, this could turn out to be a doozey.
You boys that are waiting on the fence may want to re-think your plans!

I flew to Houston from St. Louis and drove mine home 900 miles. [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif[/img] The road trip was quite fun and my truck was almost broke in by the time I made it back to St. Louis. <font color=red>COCHISE IS DA MAN!</font color=red>

Well, it's build date number two. Build week 3/4, ETA 3/18. Funny too, the other truck ended up with a build week off 2/18 but an ETA of 3/11.

HI, Chuk, nice to hear, our ETA is 3/11 like your original, but the dealer says he'll try for a faster shipment!! I know they lied to me too, and I will tell him so, when we pick up the truck, they will have one irate Mom on their hands, they had better give my son good financing!! My only regret is that I didn't read this forum sooner, I would have ordered from Cochise!! But the wait helped the downpayment grow.......but it still irks me, that they can't tell the truth.....and blame it on Ford, no less.......thanks for letting me vent!!!! I bet that his truck will come sooner than 3/11, I think that date is a dealer ploy, since your new one is exactly 2 weeks from Build week, they will make themselves look good if it's in by 3/4, when in actuality it was really supposed to be there then anyway......I'll keep you posted

At least your wait isn't long!!!

Hey Karin, good to hear from you. It looks like deliveries have been running ahead of schedule, lately, hopefully ours will do the same. I hope mine makes it in by 3/16, I could use the break. I imagine yours will be in the week of the 4th, hang in there. Definitely give them the "irate mom" thing, I'm 39, but I remember how nasty that can be!

Hey gang,

Check out Air Tran.

They fly out of Philly to Houston Hobby. I got a ticket for $99 when I flew down to pick up my van from Cochise.

You can take a bus from the airport to Lone Star with a couple of transfers. Not simple but possible and cheap if you're counting the bucks (as I do).

It is a fantastic two days getting back to the east coast. By the time you are home, your PSD will be broken in and you can let the SO (significant other) drive it without worry.[img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Cochise will tell you exactly how to break it in.
