freespirit; Get you a six pak of long necks, type in "mileage" on the search function found at the top of these pages, and settle down to read what everyone else is doing re fuel consumption.

Re: FIRST TANK OF GAS. MILAGE??

Can’t complain, just over 1000 miles and it is getting over 15. With AC on and running between 65 – 70 mph. Doing better than the old 74.

Re: FIRST TANK OF GAS. MILAGE??

Free Spirit - if you wonder why you are getting ragged - well - we dieselers don't call it gas - its called fuel. Gas is something you get when you ate something that didn't agree with you!

Re: FIRST TANK OF GAS. MILAGE??

PS - lighten up on the accelerator and keep your tach under 2000 rpm when accelerating. Buy fuel in places where they have a high turnover of fuel - ie truck stops and other places where trucks fill up. And don't drive it like a car - or a Ferrari - it's a diesel truck that weighs in at around 3 tons, for pete's sake.
