Fleet vs Individual pricing

In general, if one could get a fleet deal through their credit union, would that beat a deal that I could strike myself with a dealer? The vehicle I'll be ordering is an F-350 Lariet PSD CC 4x4 3.73 LS LWB and I don't mind accepting a low priority on my build if it helps with the price.

Cheers,
David Curry

Re: Fleet vs Individual pricing

Maybe, maybe not. I Faxed about 40 dealers a bid request directed to their fleet managers. Got back about 15 replys, from $250 over invoice to $2000 over. My local dealer called and asked how the bidding was going. Told him 250 over. He said they would go 200. I have my second on order thru them right now. Fleet managers are normally on salary not commision and have the authority to say yes or no. They normally don't have to keep running to the "manager". Try this and see what you get if you already know what you want, Then compare what your credit union can do.

Re: Fleet vs Individual pricing

I'm not familiar with fleet pricing through credit unions, but if it is similar to the X-plan my employer offered, it will save you $$.

I paid $335 below invoice on my Excursion.

Re: Fleet vs Individual pricing

Well, it sounds like I'll just have to try it both ways. Thanks for the input, I sure appreciate it!
