Re: Ford matches GM on family plan

Yeah and now all of the loyal customers who bought 2005 models before this deal are going to lose thousands in resale value instantly. It will also affect earlier model year values as well. Of course the 6.0 is not going to have any real value anyway, just check out that forum. Everyone now is waiting on the new super engine 6.4 twin turbo. They can keep that one, I would'nt touch it until it had been out at least two years, if then.

Re: Ford matches GM on family plan

I wouldn't actually call it losing value.
It would have to be implemented permanently to drop across the board values. This is a short term sales incentive

Why not get another Ex for this big discount to even out your exposure?

Was this response meant to be some kind of joke. I would not expect that it would be coming from a moderator. Maybe you could send me a private message and explain. I don't really get it.

This is what I'm talking about:
Why not buy another truck on the Employee X plan and reduce your perceived loss in value?

Re: Ford matches GM on family plan

I also posted the same thing in the "other technical" so apparently this is the proper place for it. I'm wondering if this EX plan also extends to the Excursions? In the past there were some very good deals on the Excursions. Although some people had some leak and drip problems with some of the early versions, my (2)(2003) Excursions were excellent. Time to check them out again and see if the new Ex plan is the real thing.

Re: Ford matches GM on family plan

I am wondering how much off a vehicle this will represent? We are in the process of getting the wife another Explorer with the $5000 rebate offer, will the employee plan beat that? If so, by how much? Supposed to be getting the vehicle tomorrow, nothing signed as of yet.

Re: Ford matches GM on family plan

If Ford is going to match GM's "Employee" Pricing for everyone, then Ford should offer their "A" Plan Pricing , not their X-Plan Pricing.

Re: Ford matches GM on family plan

Yes but notice they are calling it the "Ford Family Plan" which is basically how they refer to the group that is already eligible for X-Plan.

Re: Ford matches GM on family plan

The price will be A plan and the rebates will drop considerably like they did at GM.
The employee pricing scheme will not be much lower, it at all, compared to a delaer selling at 500 over invoice with larger rebates applied. Some vehicles may be a larger discount on this new offer but most will not.
What this does do is make it less complicated to get the good price at EVERY dealer.

No, it does not appear to be the same deal as GM's deal.

Thanks for the clarification, I guess I just do not understand some of this lingo. Unfortunately I don't have room for another truck or the need for it. My 04 has had some of the usual problems, but not too bad. If I had some of the problems that a lot of owners have experienced, I would consider trading or going with another brand. I don't use my truck in a hard way and I tow it behind my bus mostly and use it on trips out west.

Re: Ford matches GM on family plan

Doc, your link inspired me to check out that site for Prevost. They are nice!

How about some pictures of that combo, I'm sure many users here would love to see that kind of set up

BTW, how did you end up hooking up that F-250 to her? I guess you took Smokeywrens advice?

Wow. Using a diesel truck as a 'toad' is impressive, even for us folks out west. I've seen my fair share of little run-arounds being towed-behind, a full size diesel truck be quite the setup.
That Prevost has good power.
