My Job #2 250 4X4 was ordered on 8-17. My dealer has not yet been able to give me any update on the status.
Any idea how long I should expect to wait? I was told by dealer 6-8 weeks. I am really hoping to get the truck by end of September for tax reasons. Any chance?

Thursday is the big day at the Ford Vehicle Operations Production Center (VOPC). That's the day they "pull" orders out of the pile of unscheduled orders and schedule a week's worth of production at the assembly plants. So your order status might change today. I would be standing on my dealerperson's desk first thing Friday morning asking him to check his Ford vehicle order computer system with an inquiry as to the status of your order number. I suspect he'll have a new status to report to you.
But even if your order gets pulled today, hoping for delivery by the end of September is a long shot.

Smokey my salesman called me today and said my truck was "submitted" What does this mean? His explanation seemed to say that they have the parts and should be inline to be built?
I ordered it around Aug 17th as well.

"Submitted" is not an official term used by the VOPC. I suspect your status is "unscheduled clean", but this is Thursday so the status might change before morning. Ask your salesman to check your order status tomorrow.
I ordered my F450 on 8-20, and a week later got a copy of the paperwork from the dearler that the factory provided, with a build week of 9-24 and a partial VIN number. Today (Thursday) my salesman called and reconfirmed that the week of 9-24 has not slipped. If it gets assembled that week, I expect to take delivery sometime around October 8th or 15th depending on how long it takes from Louisville to Los Angeles.

I found this from SteveK. This is what my dealer must of meant
Submitted to plant and or scheduled: When a VIN is assigned and scheduled build week along with the estimated week of delivery (EWD, a.k.a. ETA) to the dealer. "
My dealer didn't mention a build week or est time of delivery.
Once at this stage I wonder how long to get a vin so I could lock the incentives in. With Fords current set up I wonder when I might be looking at for delivery? Mid Oct? I hope earlier as I've sold the 7.3..

I'm under the impression that the incentives aren't (or can't be) "locked in" until the day the vehicle changes hands. I ordered a tuck Sep 1, on Sep 4 my incentives got worse here in Texas....

Spoke to dealer today. My build date is 9-25. Unsure how long after this before truck arrives.
Dealer says he can sell me the truck as soon as he recieves an invoice from Ford, and that is typically 10-14 days before it arrives to their lot.
We'll see....
