Talked to a salesman today and he offered only 3 1/2 % off the sticker price. Had to walk. For those who have purchased a new 08 Superduty how much were you able to negotiate off the sticker price?
Don
I think your best bet is to get a "X-Plan" pin number and use that for the best discounts on these trucks. I know with the hot F-450 pickup, I could not beat the x-plan price no matter how hard I worked the deal. X-plan allowed me to move up to a loaded Lariat and still saved me close to $6,000 off of the window sticker. I chuckled to myself recently when a friend told me how much he paid for his new Dodge 3500 diesel(6.7) dually, he paid almost $3,000 more than I paid for the much better 450.

Live in a suburb of Oklahoma City. Got on the net and looked at all the inventory in Dallas, Ft Worth, Amarillo, OKC, and Tulsa. Found a Toreador Red over silver 450 Lariat at United Ford North in Tulsa. Sticker was $52,305.00. Wanted a color other than black or white which the majority of them on the lots are.
They knocked $6,000.00 off the sticker and gave me (what I thought) a fair trade-in price for the '01 F-350 CC longbed diesel Lariat dually.
Only gripe I have about the truck is after all the weeks of rain stopped, I washed it and waxed it and found two flaws in the paint. An air bubble on the passenger side fender and some overspray on the lower panel of the rear passenger door. Took it to Diffee Ford out in El Reno, OK and they gave me zero problems and repainted both panels.
That whole "X" plan thing is a joke.
A complete and total joke...
There's only a few bucks difference between X and invoice, so why bother looking for a PIN..
I have never paid more than invoice for a new vehicle, ever.
Just skip the sales staff completely and go right to the new car manager and ask him if he want's to sell a truck tonight..
They'll always make the deal. Even at invoice, the dealership will get over $1,500.00 just for doing 10 minutes of paperwork.
If you are having trouble with dealers who are "proud" of their sales numbers just e-mail me and I'll get that truck bought for you tonight at invoice from my dealership. And possibly get it dropped to yours...
I just bought (yesterday) a loaded up F250 KR 4x4 from Riata ford in Manor Texas. Paid $48331 sticker was $55315. A buddy of mine is a marketing manager at another Ford store and the price I got was below what his X plan pin could get me. They also gave me exactly what I wanted for my two trades. I ended up paying $41348 plus tt&l after the money I made on the trades.
Probably for much less effor tthan convincing most dealerships to sell at invoice, you can save typically 6-800 bucks. The most non-hassel free and pleasant buying experience I've ever had was purchasing from Randy at cheaperfords.com (Freeway Ford) in Denver. I believe he is a sponsor at this site as well and is certainly a class act. He'll work with you, regardless of your location.
I purchased my '03 (new) through Costco and got around $7000 off the window sticker. No negotiating, no hassle.

Yep, X-plan for me. No need to wrangle the "manger" and deal with their bull****. Sold my old truck private party and walked away from the new deal without a single haggle and the TOTAL process took 1 1/2 hour from walking in and out with the truck.
This was at Galpin Ford in North Hills, CA. I checked their inventory online before heading down and made sure they had what I wanted (they had 142 trucks that met my criteria) The hardest part was choosing a color.
Sticker was $51,215...xplan price $46,719
