I believe it's still May 19 as in a thread in "order Informatiom". The dealer will take it now, but won't be accepted by Ford until that date (not including some other technicalities with dealer allotments).

I have my 04 on order from Bobby Williams in CA. FoMoCo will accept it on 5/19 and Job #1 will start 7/14, hopefully I will be driving it by 8/15 or sooner

There are 10 types of people, those that understand binary, and those that don't.
From what I heard Ford fixed alot of their screw ups on the 03 which in turn the 04 is suppose to be fine is what I have read. Now I dont buy that, but hell I dont own either 03 or 04.
Just what I have read is what I can tell ya. I think its gonna take more time than what Ford has put into the 04 theory. More computers more gadgets smaller engine more power= problems and short life span.
I feel for all of you 6.0litre owners and I am glad I didnt buy one.

Is there a reason to be more interested in the 04's vs 03's?

If the rumors are true, the crewcab rear seat would be one heck of a reason to wait for '04, if you're getting a crew cab. Has headrests, folds flat, it's what the seat back there should have been all along.

I know if they do put that (Excursion mid seat?) into the rear of the Crew Cab, I will get one. I just hope that they keep the Sport interior the same.

"Get one" as in buy an '04 or "get one" as in buy a rear seat assembly?
(I'm pondering the latter, even though it will be an insane amount of money.)
It sounds more like the F150 rear seat design than the Excursion mid seat design.

I want just the seat. I have started the mods to the '03, I am not going for the '04. I think it would be cheaper to get just the seat than to sell the '03 and upgrade to a '04.

It sure seems like it ought to be, but I wonder. I bet that complete seat assembly will run into the thousands, if you can even find a dealer willing to work hard enough to order it. If things like seat belt bits and pieces change because of the seat configuration, it just keeps going up from there. But I sure can't see trading trucks just to get the better rear seat, so that's probably what I'll end up doing: spending thousands at the parts department. Ugh.
My other option that I'm still pursuing is putting a front seat assembly back there. It's just this d(*& XLT Sport interior makes it impossible to get a matching pull from the RV outfitters. They simply don't buy any XLT Sport trucks. By the time I buy a $600-$800 pulled seat and change all the fabric and plastic pieces on a tan or grey one to the XLT Sport colors, I'm into thousands again anyway. Sigh.
