Info from plant

Plant is not having anymore tours for quote: for security reasons
there will be no public, personal,or educational tours available at kentucky truck plant. Also there is no 6.0's in lots. they will not be up to full 6.0 production until after xmas. from a man that works there meet at a dealership....drove 3 2003's but 7.3's still fun.
man they have a big dealership there....1600 vehicle's and 40 sale's
person's, by the way the plant is big...over 100 acre's just building's.

Re: Info from plant

Thanks for the info Oneton...I was in Louisville this weekend and decided to hit Chamberlan Lane (where the KTP is located). To my delight I came across a gate with 30 or so vechicles lined up to exit. There was a guy getting info from each driver before they were let out. For giggles I pulled up outside the gate and walked up to the guy. Turns out what I was seeing was a bunch of 6.0s being logged out for their test drives. Apparently they are paying people to drive them and get some test miles recorded...what a great job huh! Anyways...the guy was really nice and we chatted for about a half hour. We talked about everything from sway bars to tires to badges to performance to testing. He was apparently an engineer working on the startup for the KTP. If i had to sum this truck up from what I could tell standing 6 feet away from them as they were driving through.....QUIET! Did I mention they are quiet! No more having to role your window up when a diesel pulls up next to you at a stop light...these things just sound great! I saw 350s...250....excursions....king ranch....lariots....drws....i saw it all and the guy was very cordial and willing to share what he knew. He even said he was involvd with the dodge, chevy, ford truck pulling test we have all been reading about. Anyways....sounds like everything is worth the wait! By the way...sounds like you went to Bill Collins Ford...they are the biggest in town. I tried to get my truck throught them but after the runaround and delays I finally went to All State Ford. None of the other dealers were willing to try to enter my order codes back in July when I placed my order. Talk to you later. Matt

Still testing and shipping the product? Validation is the customers job? Just a little dig.

Re: Info from plant

Sounds like they're testing the product and *not* shipping it! (And not even building it until this coming week...maybe...) Sounds like a good approach to me.
